Yes, I believe so...he is probably coming because he's allotted 5 just like every other player and wants to make sure and his Princeton teammates Darrion Henry and Jaheim Thomas (both 4 stars and #2 and #4 players in Ohio) are here this weekend too.

Also, Daved Jones, a 3* ILB from Lakota West is here along with Chris Scott, 3* WR from Pick North.

So that makes the #1, #2, #4, #13, #25, #27, #42, #45, and #55 ranked in the state recruits here this weekend on Official Visits...that's a hell of a group.

That has to be a record for UC. Just getting a group like that to set foot on campus. Let alone if we can snag a couple of them.

I saw that Fairfield 2020 RB JuTahn McClain committed to UK. I know there were several highly rated local RBs in this class but I lost track of them. Anybody with an updated survey of the options - particularly wrt to who UC might be targeting?

Looks like Angelo Grose, who 247 had as a 3* 83 grade but didn’t have a composite score, is decommitting after receiving an offer from Michigan State

Sounds like we've got a fighting shot at Columbus TE Luke Lachey or maybe Mansfield TE Clay Caudill if not Elder TE Joe Royer. Reportedly OSU had them all in for a one day camp and/or de-facto offer competition and Royer got the offer. Here's 247's Kurelic's take from the camp before finding out OSU offered Royer.

Both Lachey and Caudill have great offer lists that include UC. I haven't seen much else on Caudill and UC but 247 has UC as a warm for Lachey. Back around New Years, Lachey spoke highly of UC and Fickell along with UK and Iowa St. More recently it sounds like Mich St. and Iowa are also in hot pursuit. Any other clues on where we might stand with these or other TEs?

We do until we don't. Transfers, injuries, busts are all common. Even if none of the above happen, bringing in new competition helps keep everybody on their toes. Like QB, I imagine most years we'll target one regardless of the current roster. Plus between the current roster and recent TEs, we may be developing a bit of a reputation for the position.

As a note, Deshawn Jones was a 3* CB ranked as the #2 CB in the state rated at .8588 and Angelo Grose was a 3* CB ranked as the #4 CB in the state rated .8333...so we actually upgraded with the decommitment.

Technically, based upon an article I read about Jones, we were planning/hoping on signing both. But adding Jones so quickly is especially nice after losing Grose. Jones has a really nice offer list and seems like another high quality addition to the class.

I agree with many that the package deal stuff is usually overblown, but we're also strong on his teammate Bangally Kamara (see my post above from about a week ago) and Jones has said they'd like to go to the same school.
