The top teams in the AAC or MAC could go undefeated in either conference, but probably wouldn't because, you know, it's hard to go undefeated.

The AAC, this year, is better than the MAC. Both conferences are top heavy, but the AAC's top is better than the MAC's top. No amount of MD homerism changes that.

....conferences put their better teams against each other later in the season, generally. I suspect they do it on purpose.

The AAC is better this year. Even when you point to the future schedule. Toledo could get knocked down by a MAC school because....gulp...they'll play decent MAC schools coming up.

Us sane people aren't actually entertaining the idea that the MAC is a better conference than the AAC this year, are we?

Top to bottom, no. But they really arent a ton ton better. BG could be the MACs 3rd best team and they barely lost in a shootout to Memphis. BG could also be the best.

WMU losing to Georgia Southern did us in for comparison sake. The AAC played lots of home games vs P5 teams! Temple had 2, memphis had 1, Houston had 2.

I think 4 other teams could have the record BG does. They just do a lot of scoring to hush that type of talk. Maryland and Purdue suck, lets face it.
