What are the odds that we go undefeated AND there aren't at least 4 of the 5 P5 champions with 1 loss or less AND there aren't any additional in the top 5 in the computers in the end?

It would probably take all of these factors to make the playoffs.... In addition to Houston, Temple and maybe Ole Miss not losing another game that isn't Memphis.

Not good. But it's posiible. And the fact that it's possible given where we were when Fuente took over is incredible in and of itself. I mean, it literally would defy belief if you told someone in 2011 where we'd be now.

We've got a lot of good teams left on our schedule and we a far from unbeatable. There are plenty of games we could lose if we have an off night or two or three or God forbid four. It's going to take a little bit of fortune just to hold up our end of the bargain, including having to win against what will probably be a very good team in the AAC championship. But for now it's fun to think about.

Think about that. We are at the point with this season where going 8-4 will be a pretty big let down.

That's insane.

Ole Miss would have to win the SEC. If the Cubs win it all and Ole Miss wins the SEC then the world is ending

It's nice to talk about it but it will NEVER happen. They'll put a 2 loss SEC team in before us.

We will see how far out of the realm of possibility it is on Nov 3rd.

I agree to a point. If it's possible then we would probably get hosed. That being said, I could also see the powers that be seeing the appeal of a little guy, Rudy type story. They could sell the hell out of that if they thought we could actually compete.

Agree. The CFP SC tossed the usual rankings on their ears last season. Not saying that will definitely help us, but they seemed to avoid the traditional bias evident in the regular polls.

A two loss team is not getting in over Memphis if Houston and Temple win out outside of the Memphis game...

That is with Temple beating Notre Dame. Depending on the margin of victory in this dream scenario we could easily be ranked in the top ten...Hell Probably 6 or 7 if we win every game by double digits.

IF we finished undefeated, presumably with three top 25 wins (Ole Miss, Houston, & Temple) and a conference championship, then there is noway we do not end up at least #10. We are at #18 today. Our body of work would be too good to deny a top 10 ranking IMO. Remember, that would also give us a 20 game winning streak...
