Some things are just plain wrong and trump (no pun intended) policy and other issues. Racism, bigotry, anti-semitism, etc. fall into that category. I could even accept someone ignoring Trump's complete lack of knowledge and experience on the basis of party/ideology.
But support a campaign which most acknowledge is one of white nationalism? Sorry, there is no way to morally defend that.
Your saying those things doesn't make them true.
Which things? That supporting racism, bigotry, and anti-semitism is morally indefensible? Fair enough, that is merely my opinion. And thankfully the opinion of most people with a sense of decency.

You know perfectly well what I mean, so this is totally disingenuous on your part.

Your saying that Trump supports those things doesn't make that true.

So you're saying Trump has not run an ant-semitic campaign? That Breitbart isn't well know as and anti-semitic and white nationalist outlet? That Steve "I won't let my children go to school with Jews" Bannon isn't an anti-semite? That Trump's latest ad, already condemned by the ADL and others doesn't draw upon classic anti-semitic tropes, and it's just a coincidence that every person it associates with Clinton happens to be Jewish. That Trump hasn't *literally* retweeted anti-semetic memes originating from neo-Nazis? That his son hasn't retweeted things with white nationalist/neo-nazi mascot "pepe the frog"? That he didn't give a speech a couple weeks ago accusing of Clinton of conspiring with "international bankers" to take away US sovereignty that sounded like a Father Coughlin speech?

These are all things that actually happened. So forgive me if I don't take the idea that he's not running an anti-Semitic campaign seriously....

People actually bought this story??

Pepe the frog is an internet meme that can and has been used for myriad purposes.

If I disavowed anyone who has ever used as a hammer as being a Communist, I'd sound pretty ridiculous, right? That's the path you are taking here.

I prefer to live in a world where I hear "Global Power Structure" or "International Bankers" and don't think "Jews." I'm sorry that you do- seems like a very anti-Semitic connection for you to make.

(Yes, I'm being disingenuous here; but I don't believe that the people who "pull the levers of power" should be above criticism just because someone else thinks that there is a global Jewish conspiracy)

Those sorts of peripheral and tangential factoids are not compelling with respect to your allegations regarding the fundamental nature of the campaign. It's the kind off stuff that Glenn Beck and Rachel Maddow like to do. So forgive me if I don't take your allegations seriously...

the co-opting of Pepe the Frog interesting story. Stebe Bannon as CEO of a major party pres. campaign not so much. Lots of noise.

Real votes:

TX: Hidalgo, largest % Hispanic county in state, has already cast more votes than in all of '12 - and we haven't even reached Election Day.

FL: "911,000 Hispanics have voted—more than a third of whom did not vote in 2012" http://www.miamiherald.com/news/politics...58953.html …

Yeah, I remember the old rusty thing hanging in the barn. Never used it. We had pitchforks, too, but no torches.

RE: Presidential Horse Race Thread
Hopefully I'll get around to telling you all why you are wrong later, but sorry for my tone in some of the previous posts.

I broke one of my rules, which is to ask myself “Am I closer to being Mr. Spock or Angry Captain Kirk yelling “KHAAAAAAANNNN”? If the later, don't post. Come back later and re-assess.

Being human, I’m never Mr. Spock but even as you approach 75% Spock you probably aren’t posting at all because spending time and energy on internet message board political arguments is clearly not logical. And if you are approaching 75% Angry Kirk you should shut down the computer and do some breathing exercises. I wasn’t quite there, but that last ad may have been the straw that broke the camel’s back for me. I am so, so ready to be done with this election.

So, my apologies for not being constructive.

On the contrary, really bad jokes are a criminally underappreciated art form.

A dog whistle is something that is heard only by the dog. The stuff you're talking about is heard by everyone but the dog.

I'm not a Trump supporter and did not vote for him. But the enthusiasm on both sides for exaggerating personal attacks rather than discussing issues is troubling.

Not talking about this particular article, but do you think that dog whistles are not a real thing with regards to racism and bigotry? That racism/bigotry only exist in an overt context?

If by dog whistles, you mean code words, I think the left is turning the terms "Republican" and "right-wing" into dog whistles.
