That whole thing has blown up in a bad way.

Packers, with that beat down by the Broncos tonight could make for a interesting game @ the Panthers next Sunday.

RE: NFL 2015 Season thread
so is it going to be a clean sweep in Detroit?
Lions making major changes
The 1-7 Lions have fired GM Martin Mayhew and president Tom Lewand, league sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Ownership is also meeting with coach Jim Caldwell. As a sign of how poorly the Lions have drafted and retained players, no one from the 2010 or 2011 drafts is left on the roster.

There's talk that Stafford might be dealt as well.

Considering their inability with their talent to do a whole lot--it just might be time.

Redskins dominating the Saints today. Most yards in half since 1988 and the Super Bowl vs the Broncos. 27-14 and looking to score again.

I was surprised at the ownage...as surprised by the Chiefs tearing the Broncos a new one.

Panthers are 9-002-13-banana

Who saw the clip of Jeff Fisher surrounded by his players on the sideline as he screams at them when they were down 24-10? They ended up giving up another 13 points.

Guy is the most overrated coach ever. 21 years as a coach, 6 winning seasons. As Bruce Arians said, they get hyped up every year and finish 7-9.

I never wanted to admit that, but you're right. His teams basically never do anything. Although he hasn't had a good QB since McNair

Fisher has a real shot to be the all time losing coach.
right now he's got 152 losses(with 166 wins). Only Dan Reeves(165), Tom Landry(162), and Don Shula(156) lost more...

only 3 guys with 200+ games are worse than he is winning pct...
He's .522
Weeb Ewbank is .502
Lou Saban is .490
and the worst coach of all time- Norv Turner .483

loving this Redskins game today. 17-0. If we beat the Cowboys next week, we would lock up just about every tiebreaker in the division.

why would you want to win? You're just gonna lose in the first round of the playoffs and end up with a sh*tty draft pick. I'm so glad the Giants lost. I want something around the 12th pick, not the 20th

The NFL draft is a crapshoot. A good GM makes his salary in the 2nd-5th rounds by drafting good depth and building the "meat" of the team.

Also, if the Redskins get hot and finish 9-7 they will have a respectable WC profile since their conference record is quite good (5-3 vs. NFC teams). This is important since the Giants have gotten really hot late in the season before.

There are no good QB prospects coming out (and I'm talking about proper top-15 pick QBs). Washington will re-sign Cousins.

The playoffs are what you draft to get into. Carolina snuck in at 7-8-1 last year and look at them now.

Some of the worst teams in this league have stockpiled picks and flopped on nearly all of them. The Rams were given the farm for RG3, and they lost to 4th-round Kirk by 14 in DC.

all true, and yet I'd still rather get a top 15 pick, than a bottom 15 pick. And that goes for any sport. Worked for the Astros, Thunder, Giants (both sports), Nationals, Cavs, etc. Teams can certainly be built without high draft picks, but I'd still much rather have a shot at the top talent. If a GM is going to screw up a top 10 pick, chances are he's going to screw up a 20-30 pick as well.

And how can you say Goff is not a proper top-15 QB? I've seen comparisons to Eli Manning and Matt Ryan and a legitimate top 5 grade.

He needs to be mentored for 2 years at a team with a decent QB already. Cal's offense does have some pro elements in it - so I think he can translate to the NFL.

He's too skinny for the NFL right now, and needs to add 15-20 to his really thin frame (he'd still be small even after those gains).

He's going to have a future, but if he's drafted too high into a team that MUST play him now then he's going to fail. He's the type of player that should be able to age like wine.

He's a good QB in waiting, but not a franchise saver. If the Skins didn't have Cousins, I would welcome Goff + a veteran to teach him how to play football.
