I can answer any kind of questions you might have whether it be personnel, tailgating in the Rock, or anything else. This is the one game a year we have in Little Rock's War Memorial Stadium, it's a 55,000 seater that will be absolutely a sellout. There will be a gigantic party outside all day in and around the stadium. Usually 70k show up. There's free food a beer all over the place for the nice visiting fan. It's a shame we're both not going to have our best running backs in the game, but I expect an outstanding football game! Woo Pig Sooie!

As a fellow Arkansan, stop it. The game has over 10,000 tickets left. It's a redneck drunk fest where we pretend to be West Virginia complete with coaches on a golf course. This is the beginning of the end for games in Little Rock as it truly is a toilet bowl compared to the on campus stadium where all home will soon be.

They'll be more free loading redneck white trash trying to catch the free Brad Paisley concert after the game on the gold course than actual game attendees .

LR haters inc. I've been going to LR games since before I could walk, and it will be a very sad day when we don't play a game here anymore. NWA snobs always ruin the fun.

Took me about three posts before I realized your use of LR didn't mean "lazy redneck."

Only me?

Come on, you don't have to be a scientific rocket to figure out playing in Little Rock is a punishment.

Believe it or not guys UT has a larger operating budget then Arkansas. Their budget is $485 million where's UT is about $950 million. Wikipedia is a good source for more info. There is no other game in the state so Arkansas is it for all intents and purposes with no pro sports so a huge advantage for them with athletics. It's not a very big school by any means, about the same size as UT. Our Health a Science campus puts the budget over the top with The UT Medical Center.

Yeah but I'm sure that they dwarf us in revenue because like you said, they are the only game in town.

Just think about how many students that have graduated from UT that either wear Ohio State or Michigan garb for the rest of their lives. Hell, just think about the number of CURRENT UT students that abandon campus to go to Columbus or Ann Arbor for the weekend!!! It's pathetic!!!
Sounds like you and Arkansas State are sympatico.

For whatever reasons but mainly due to the way Frank Broyles ran the athletic department as a whole, Arkansas is one of the few schools out there where they run in the black. Zero tax dollars have gone toward athletics in decades, another rarity in the world of public universities. Atletica is run completely separate for ths the academic side and often gives Academics money It's through great support of donors over the years that this has been accomplished. To see the facilities on campus would make this even more impressive . Sadly, the game is playing in a relic of the 60s where the clock doesn't work half the time.

or those that aren't bitter in life and appreciate a good host. 03-wink I'm sure the one in Fayetteville is all the rage, I really do. But we've been to Ohio Stadium and won (sort-of) and been to Michigan Stadium and won so for us, I think it's more about the host.

There are many UT folks that would have looked forward to the college experience in Fayetteville but that's not where the game is, it is in Little Rock and I think Toledo fans are going to enjoy what's available.

The stadium looks to have great sight lines and I bet puts up a bit of noise. I would hope your players recognize it as an honor to get to play for people that would not normally get to see them play in person. It's only one game.

It's really nothing against you Yankees. Some of my great greats killed a few of you Ohio folk at Shiloh, that nasty affair is in the distant past now. This is more about a spoiled little centralized area of Arkansas that's having a hard time dealing with the fact they are not the center of the universe on all things Arkansas anymore and their pouting over it not being the good ol' days where we drug our team on a bus trip for a road game three and four times a year. Fayetteville was once so hard to get to that Arkansas even played home games Memphis. That's not the case anymore. Gone is the sleepy college town up in the hills to a place with one of the most vibrant , fastest growing economies in the USA complete with three industry leading Fortune 500 companies. Arkansas officials see playing in Dallas every year as more beneficial as playing in central Arkansas as incoming freshmen particularly from the Metroplex outnumber incoming freshmen from Arkansas. If Arkansas needs to play a game for the East Arkansas folk, it can be accomplished by playing Memphis at the Liberty Bowl from time to time. Otherwise, road improvement in Mississippi make away games in Oxford or Starkville nearly as easy to get to as Little Rock. Arkansas is losing millions by playing in Little Rock via travel costs, rent and lost concessions while having to dole out a million bucks for a rent a win (nothing personal) with no back end obligation.. All the while Little Rock has done nothing to improve the stadium for the fans for decades.

Headed south. In Arkansas now, about 3 hours away from Little Rock. Conditions are fine. There was some construction which meant a two-lane highway for a bit but traffic isn't bad at all.
