RE: Confederates troll child's birthday party.
They were insulting the memory of those that fought under that battle flag. Just because you have the right to do it doesn't mean it is right to trivialize, commercialize and otherwise twist the meaning of something that in this case was intended specifically as a flag for soldiers, not a governmental symbol, certainly not a hate symbol, and not an entertainment symbol or a regional pride symbol. The flag should be utilized for historical purposes, as should our monuments. It is sickening that the flag has been essentially stolen from the descendants of Confederate troops.

Correct.

It belongs to the soldiers. I will continue to put it on my gg-grandfathers grave if I have to sew one myself. I'll continue to try to protect Civil War statues, monuments, plaques, etc. whether I'm called a racist or not. But I have no need to drag one down the street on my truck.

You would be one of the only one's who do have a right.

With that comes the responsibility of using them honorably and comporting with Gen. Lee's views on gentlemanly behavior.

You have every right to disrupt any black child's birthday party in America but you better not bother my white kids when they are celebrating their birthday.

Anyone who takes a symbol that they know is offensive to some people and throw it in their face on a day of celebration is a Dick Tracy in my book.

kinda falls under the 'no shite' catagory.....

none of the above yields true in satisfaction to any other than those annoying....

just another op-ed in misdirection and understanding....

I'm not sure what language that is, but I think I disagree. In one case they go out of their way to be annoying a-holes, at a child's birthday party no less, and possibly threatening as well. In the other case they're just rude. I'd say there's a big difference.
Quick question, how would they know a child's birthday party was going on?

Again, there seems to be two sides to the story and we're dismissing the other side. I'm positive the truth lies somewhere between both stories.

I'm sure there are two sides to this story, and it's possible they didn't know it was a childs birthday. But it's hard to argue that they weren't intentionally targeting this group in the hopes of upsetting them, and put some significant work in to do so.
So you know what was going on the mind of these men? Cause it could be argued that they were flying the flags, since it is a business, and were on their way when they had a flat, pulled over to fix it and got harassed.. When did it become a crime to fly any flag?

I suppose that's possible, but highly, highly unlikely. As for your question regarding the legality of this, I have yet to see a single person state it should be illegal and I know I certainly have not nor ever would imply that to be the case.

But, a smarter person that me one said that "defending a position by citing free speech is the ultimate concession; you're saying that the most compelling thing you can say for your position is that it's not literally illegal to express."

I'm not defending the flag wavers but it's still not illegal to do so. If those guys in the pick up trucks were yelling profanity, racist remarks and honking their horns then they would be in the wrong. The black group should have just ignored them just like we should ignore the trolls on this site. If you give them the attention they crave you have given them credibility otherwise they would just have left with their tails between their legs.
