I think Michigan State and Wisconsin are top 6 and may intermingle with the top 4 during current times.

No question Wisc and MSU have been rising while 3 of the traditional Big 4 have been struggling. Wisc with 3 straight Rose Bowls and a bastketball team in national championship game. MSU with 2 straight BCS level bowl wins and Basketball also keeps doing great under Izzo.

Neb, PSU and Mich better get their act together or else they are about to lose their Big 4 status. It would be especially interesting if MSU takes over Mich's spot in the Big 4.

I'm sorry, but you can't be serious. At least try and pretend you aren't being a huge homer. No one outside of Lubbock thinks this.

While I personally wouldn't put them in the top four, of the 10 current Big 12 teams, these are the four that were not staring down homelessness. It may have been for reasons other than their inherent true value, but it's enough to make the answer understandable. Besides if Tech isn't fourth, what are they? Fifth? Is one spot so far off.

Are they though? Look at it like you are an executive in charge of a network and look at tech completely independently. No politics, no neighbours. I see them as sixth at best and certainly up for debate amongst the others. Tech will always be valuable as part of a package but less so themselves.

No other conference is lining up to shake up the big 12 in order to get tech.

If we assume Kansas is the one in their place, who is head and shoulders above them, value wise, as next in line? I can;t think of anyone. You can make a case for West Virginia, but that's about it. Baylor is too "new money" to be there, and I don't think TCU is above them if only because they are new to the power conference game, since the SWC. That's all I meant, was that it's not crazy talk.

Why would a UC fan care? I hear Tommy is still wearing Tech Polo's as the HC of UC and I hope it was fake.

Texas Tech is the 3rd largest University in Texas and we have options.

What school I am a fan of will never be relevant to the points I make. I wouldn't be making that point anyway considering your clear obsession with your former coach, JML.

I was expressing an opinion. I do believe that's what this message board is about.

I love UofL, but no way a team last in, and only added due to a defection (as opposed to a targeted addition) can really be in the top four in terms of value to the conference. Yes number 1 or 2 in revenue, but that is not really shared value so to speak.

Killjoy!

Folks were pissing for distance!

I have a hard time taking at face value a list that ranks NC State, Kansas St, and Virginia Tech as the most valuable in their states over the main school (Tech I could almost see, but UVA just has so much money and is so sought after), or Washington as the most valuable team in the PAC 12, or Central Michigan as the most valuable team in the MAC, or USF as the most valuable team in the American. But using this, the ranks would be in order from most valuable (conferences in alphabetical order)...

ACC
Florida St, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Miami.

American
S. Florida, C. Florida, UConn, Cincinnati

Big 10
Ohio St, Michigan, Nebraska, Penn St

Big 12
Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St, and Texas Tech

Independents
Notre Dame, BYU, Navy

MAC
Central Michigan.

Mountain West
Boise St, San Jose St, Wyoming, Colorado St

Pac 12
Washington, Oregon, USC, Arizona St

SEC
Florida, Alabama, Georgia, LSU

Some of these results, I think most would agree, more or less invalidate the poll.
