Not that I follow ESPN's recruiting rankings, but I did just check and saw that they have Lindauer as the 20th ranked prostyle QB in the 2019 class. Thought that was interesting given he seemingly just came out of nowhere.
He had a great junior year and even better senior year- probably the best player in Lucas oil this year and finally got the attention of bigger programs. Wouldn't be surprised if some p5 offers come late. In the end I think Cincy fans will be happy. Both mom and dad played D1.

ESPN also has ranked Dorian Holloway as the #20 player in Ohio. Looking like quite a steal for the staff. Hopefully he signs Wednesday.

I don't think we will see too many surprises since this will be a small class. I expect ElGammal will end up signing with Miami, but I doubt that is much of a surprise.

I keep seeing reference to three transfers coming on to scholarship next year, which also limits the class. But, for the life of me, I can only remember the Lineman from Michigan. Who else is there?

Linebacker from Liberty maybe? I'm not sure if he was technically a walk-on last year or not.
Only other transfer that is currently rosters is Jeffries...maybe there's another I missed.

Ryan Montgomery also counts toward this class.

The Liberty linebacker is gone. As someone else pointed out Montgomery will be counted towards this class, and there will most likely be a transfer or two coming in. This is just how recruiting is done now-a-days, particularly in the AAC where everyone is picking up guys from elsewhere.

Thanks for the responses. The college free agency makes my head spin. I just took a look at the roster - Darius Harper (the former Miami basketball player) is listed, but maybe he counts for this class.

Although the AAC has a downside as far as keeping coaches, the conference has an upside with transfers. It's a great landing spot for P5 guys who might have lost their potential starting position to a younger guy who has more of a future for their program or a guy maybe coming off on an injury. And it's a nice step up for transfers from most G5 programs who are either proving they belong in a higher class (but are blocked from P5 programs who mostly want straight outta HS recruits) or for G5 grad transfers looking for one last shot at a bowl game and higher visibility.
With that in mind, I hope we're keeping a few schollies up our sleeve for both the late signing period (which yielded some of our highest rated guys last year) and transfers (which also yielded us considerable talent like first team AAC Dino Boyd).

RE: Football Class of 2019
I kept meaning to post here asking about the deal with Colerain's Ivan Pace, Jr. I guess it's moot at this point, but I'm still curious.
I had the impression that we were interested but hadn't offered him, but this makes it sound like we did - although it may have no longer been actionable. I don't know what the reluctance was from us (and other teams) but I'm guessing it was speed because his size seems decent and as the Ohio Defensive POY, he's obviously got skills. Anyone with additional insight? In any event, he just committed to Miami joining 3 Colerain teammates in this class. I guess Martin and Miami are also enthused to see what comes out of Lakota West going forward now that Bolden is there.

Our running back room is already over crowded. He doesn’t have the measureables the staff is looking for at MLB— think Bryant Wright 6’3 240 with athleticism and long arms. Pace is a gamer but he just does not fit the mold they are looking for here.

Thx. I thought he was 6-2 when I posted, but I double checked and the article lists him as 6-0 205 so yeah he is definitely on the small side for a MLB. I'm partial to guys who are simply football players on the theory that they will find a way to compete. But I'm sure the staff knows what they need for our system and you can't knock the results from last year. Still, I wouldn't be surprised to see him become a standout for Miami.
Meanwhile, Lakota West's ex-Coach Larry Cox landed the Talawanda job. I don't know if he was truly anti-UC or not, but Talawanda doesn't produce a lot of FBS talent iirc so it might not matter much anymore.

He might be a gamer, but we have a pretty small class this year (no one really knows for sure, but it looks to be about 19 guys). They may not have room for a guy like him, who doesn't really fit the mold of what they look for, at least at this time. We've made LBers of that size work before, but it seems those days are coming to an end.

I believe that since he was a Graduate Transfer, and came in after NSD, you can apply that to the next class.

We 'offered' him, but we didn't offer, offer him....if you know what i mean.
Yeah, i know....the confusing world of 'offers' in CFB. He could have walked on, but doesn't appear we were willing to part with a scholly.
As others have noted, he doesn't measure up to the MLBs we're looking for under this staff. We have OLBs his size, but they were speed guys converted to OLB. Mr. Pace appears to lack the necessary athleticism to play on the outside for us, at least per the staff's opinion.

Looks like the OL ElGammal is rethinking his commitment and pushing it to February. More teams including Miami getting in on him. Not a surprise.
