Is that a big deal?

Now that the other school's are on him, his composite ranking score has gone up in the past few days. If he goes, he goes... we have a lot of talent already in there system, on its way it with this class, not to mention we have been talking to other recruits in the event he goes.

RE: Football Class of 2019
It'd be unfortunate because the staff obviously wanted him. They visited him in NY a couple times in the span of two weeks. He is athletic for his size and would be a nice developmental piece on the OL. But it's not the end of the world. I'm sure the staff won't have trouble finding a replacement for him in the next ~45 days.

Having Hudson in the fold definitely softens the blow.

Put it this way, with how bad our OL has been and how young the entire position group is now, it's never a good thing to lose a quality OL recruit.

Totally agree. It's so critical to have quality depth along the OL. This is clearly a guy the staff liked and apparently word got out about him. Having quality in the trenches (on both sides) is what separates the men from the boys.

I believe that the offensive and defensive are the most important positions on the team. I saw that they got some other guys. I just didn't know where this particular guy slotted in at. Thanks everyone for the info.

From what i read, i don't think it's out of the question we still get ElGammal. He's just pushed it back due to more interest. I haven't see Mendioloa's letter yet, but that doesn't mean it's not coming. He's the other tackle.

Mendiola is a qualification issue, why he didn't sign today.

Flipped a Temple commit and landed some Florida speed

Sounds like he's being recruited as a DB. We might need to add an addition to the DB room with all the guys we've brought in the last few years.

This sure makes it look like ElGammal to Miami is official.

Interesting choice for the kid. Miami is leaking commits on offense and I'm not sure how long Richt will be around given he hasn't really elevated Miami much since he arrived. They've lost 15 commitments on their way to signing day this year and their 4* quarterback from last year is reported to be seeking a transfer. Also losing their D coordinator.

Best of luck to him, but for the Bearcats, next man in, onward and upward.

The warm weather factor for a kid from New York. He's still listed as a 2 star on Rivals.

Going after WRs when we just converted Pierce to LB is weird.

If we could close Allen, that would be wonderful...he would be the first plug in OL that we've gotten in quite some time.

We've got some depth and possibilities, but none of the returning WRs has truly established himself as a legit #1 WR. ESPN has Payton as a 4* recruit, the #1 JUCO WR in the country and the #9 JUCO overall in the ESPN JC50. In other words, he's supposed to be a stud who should be able to step in immediately and make a big contribution to the offense.

In fact, I'd consider each of these 3 recruits as pretty much homeruns if we were to land them. I hope the weather this weekend doesn't spook them too much.

I think they're going after a #1 wr after losing Lewis. I do not think Pierce was going to be that guy next year. I said back after the first couple games, Pierce looked so natural running the field going after guys and making tackles on kicks it was hard to see him playing any other position. He adds about 10 or 15 more pounds of muscle he's going to be a factor on defense i believe. It worked for Barwin, and Pierce looks to be a similar if not quicker candidate.

DB Bryan Cook of Howard University (Mt Healthy product) is transferring to Cincinnati. He had four interceptions for them as a freshman in 2017 and one in 2018. 6'1" 194 lbs ...I assume he will have two years of eligibility.

This is kind of a head scratcher... I thought we had solid DB depth and they are basically bringing in the equivalent of a JUCO that still needs a waiver to play immediately (did the NCAA loosen up the requirements on transfers - seems like every transfer now expects to get a waiver?)

Also they have to find a replacement for Meechi Harris. I'm not sure where he fit in the plans for 2019 had he not been injured but I'm sure he would have been on the two-deep. Getting Whyle back will help but they really need more playmakers in that receiver corps.

We have solid depth at cornerback, but we lack depth at Safety where twitter seems to think Cook will be playing.
