Tour de France 2019: Stage 19 halted after bad weather

It's been quite a battle with Alaphillippe holding off Thomas. Now, weather plays a role in their fates.
You can see Bernal summit that climb around 8:20 in video above; then Alaphillippe gets there around 11:00 or so, then watch the skies get dark as Alaphillippe flies down on the descent--it's scary watching them take these alpine hill roads, narrow as they are, at speed to try to make up time.
I've watched quite a bit of coverage this year since they started the race in Brussels, Belgium under the Atomium. Been inside that magnificent structure, a giant iron atom.
The hailstones covering the road portion of the video begins at 13:00 in the video.
The stage cancellation announcement comes at about 14:37 in the video. What a shame.
Alaphillippe was making up good time on the descent, but with the decision to take time time of stoppage at the top of the previous ascent (the Col de L'Iseran), it wastes his talented ride down. Now, he may well lose the yellow to Thomas in a weather-related way. As a rider, that's got to be so disappointing.

Another report/update on what happened in Stage 19 today. What a bad decision. Should have taken the times after some of the descent, before the tunnel (before the hail-covered portion) to allow for the work of the riders on the descent to have more proper effect on the overall standings. Seems like a ripoff to have used the summit as the demarcation point for the stoppage.

It'll actually be Bernal to take over the yellow, not Thomas.
Simon Yates also got screwed as he had caught Bernal on the descent and was getting a free ride behind him. Possible 3rd stage win negated for him as well. bernal the beneficiary of the turn of events.
Tomorrow should be interesting now with what happened.

Ok guys I’ve seen this thread but never opened it cuz I thought it was about rain and sunshine. I’m not going to go through all the pages to see if she has been posted or not. If she has sorry if she hasn’t, thread closed and you’re welcome.

I am still trying to get used to this West Michigan weather. Woke up to a coll 55 degrees. I forgot the last time it got up to the 90s... I love the Summers here, but I miss those Texas winters.
