You say that like it's going to do any good.

If you're not part of the solution; you are part of the problem.

Well, I guess it's a good thing there's a signed football foundation pledge form with my name on it.

That's essentially what the Football Foundation is doing/has done. It's not that they physically don't have possession of the money, it's that UAB wants to use the prospect of the *possibility* of football coming back to raise money and put it in the bank, even though they have zero intention of bringing it back regardless of how much money is raised. Then, once they have a pile of money (because they know the support for football is there) they can then redirect it to whatever they want to do.

Shirley's botox doesn't pay for itself, you know.

I wouldn't give UAB a cent of my money that they could use at their own discretion.

I think so. Justin announces the UAB football foundation has pledges for $5,000,000 and Ray just says "Well, it's not in my bank account yet so it doesn't exist."

That's why you establish a trust fund that returns people's money if football does not come back.

I didn't say that, did I? I will be there tonight. I just don't think it will do any good.

Sure Wes, we will just hand Watts 10M for him to "consider" bringing back football, and once he doesn't reinstate football he funnels it to people like Shirley kahn. NO WAY IN HELL. Nobody trust the administration, because they want money with no strings attached. Nobody trusts watts! NOBODY!

Well, like I said, an escrow account is needed. The Football Foundation holding pledges is not an escrow account. Real money, held by a 3rd party (not UAB, not Football Foundation) with a contingency agreement between the 2 parties, would be an escrow account.

I will too. No, I don't think that this fixes anything overnight. On the other hand, since the administration keeps telling people like the AD candidates that there are no UAB supporters of football, that there is no monetary support for it, having a bunch of people show up and announce that there is x amount of financial support is a direct finger in the eye of that narrative.

I've heard from multiple sources that the AD candidates were pulled aside and told that football was not coming back and that no one really gave a damn except the "vocal minority". The more people show up and the more money raised the more that is exposed for the lie it is.

THAT's why it's important. Add in that members of the CSS team are supposed to be there, and showing the flag might be of some influence. Since we are not supposed to exist, having a room full of unicorns shows the truth.

But, again, UAB would have to agree to that arrangement and it is clear that they will not.

There's so little time left now that we have to keep on with the pledge forms through the football foundation. Make Watts say that his alumni's money isn't legitimate. Then we will see how much of a PR mess he is willing to get himself into.

Shrug. Again, the more they refuse to cooperate with very reasonable proposals, the more obvious the lies become.

in reality, Consumers don't pay for something for the seller to 'consider' giving them the product. Same concept for this scenario.

You don't give the car dealer 30,000 for the dealer to "consider" giving you the Car once you have paid for it. What reality is the administration living in?

Yes they were told that by at least two people. Possibly three. No one on the committee.
