Numerous interviewees I've seen on the news programs (persons on the street) have blamed the white man, white police, etc. Granted, some just state "police" but many bring up race as well.

Another was complaining about police brutality because he had been shot with beanbags as he was standing less than 10 feet from the police line cursing at them taunting them.

A city council member that was in the middle of the intersection where the cars were eventually burned said that he and city elders had asked police to back off and they would stop the looting. At the same moment the store on the corner was being looted and he ended the interview when the host brought it up as well as bringing up that the police force was minority-majority. Standing in front of a live TV crew on a national broadcast he said the dialogue they were having was unproductive. He, as a leader in the community had a perfect opportunity to say what the issue was and make his points, yet refused and just allowed the rioters to destroy the businesses.
