RE: Baseball Polls 4/20
Charleston is out of conference this weekend, so all this talk of percentages will be irrelevant in 1 week (weather & swine flu permitting).

We are not guaranteed to play the same number of conference games. So it could mean a difference, depending on how they determine place in the standings.

I'm not sure what is more annoying to keep track of. NCAA Baseball rankings or International Futbol qualifying points/standings. Seems like both have a bit of politics involved as well.

Good God. We talk about the NCAA being corrupt. FIFA makes the NCAA look like a kid trying to steal a quarter for the gumball machine.

RE: Baseball Polls 4/20
From the ESPN - NCAA Power Rankings today:
Quote:20. College of Charleston (27-9)
Trending: Last ranked: NR
Of note: After that opening day win at South Carolina, the Cougars have been a little on the quiet side. But without a lot of fanfare these guys have gone 17-3 in their last 20 games and now lead the Colonial with a 13-2 mark. Their showdown with UNC Wilmington is still three weeks away.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dropped out: UCF, Rice, Houston
Five on deck: Maryland (27-11), Nebraska (29-13), Virginia (24-15), UNC Wimington (28-8), Notre Dame (26-12)

FIFA is a democracy just an incredibly corrupt one. It operates under the one nation one vote principal and the majority wins. The problem is the guy running the show literally pays the poor nations to vote for him aamdand there are more poor nations than stable self sufficient nations.
Sound familiar to any other democracy you know?

Not surprising. Dropping three games in a row and losing an in-conference weekend series was bound to make that happen. I like rankings just as much as everyone else, but that shouldn't be our focus right now because it doesn't seem realistic when we have a weekend like that. Our achilles is going to be our starting pitching. If it's not on, we're in trouble.
