I would. Big 12 is a lot better hoops conference. Texas has more money than even bammer.

Agreed. Bama is in a weird spot. They have a ton of money but don't have the program to back it. I'm thinking as the days go on they are going to get a young mid major coach.

Michael White?

On his radio show, Gary Parrish named three reasonable targets for Tennessee to go after. He said Smart and Marshall are pipe dreams for a program on it's third coach in four years. He said that while Tennessee may historically be a better basketball program, right now, Alabama is a better job and a better situation than Tennessee. A lot of coaches paid attention when the UT AD did not back up Cuonzo Martin when the fanbase was screaming for his head only because they wanted Bruce Pearl.

He named the following three coaches as reasonable choices that UT could get:

1. Richard Pitino - In his third year at Minnesota, and he has gone two years without an NCAA appearance. He might be wanting to get out ahead of the firing squad.
2. The coach at Butler - Has done good this year, but going to be hard to be successful long term in the Big East and following Brad Stevens.
3. Andy Kennedy - Andy has been at Ole Miss for 9 years and considering resources and the job, he has been fairly successful in the SEC. He has done about all he can do at Ole Miss and might be interesting in moving to a school more willing to make a committment to basketball.

I think that would be a really solid hire, but all this talk of hiring a top shelf coach means that the 'bama fans will throw a huge shitfit if they hire White. Not a good way to start off.

Barring a medical intervention on the FB side, this is very likely the only major men's sport hire AD Bill Battle will ever make. It will determine his legacy after he is gone. The same "Red Elephants" who packed Mal Moore's pockets with the cash needed to hire Saban are expecting a similar hire now in BB.
