Blazer fans need to make sure those tickets sell out by 2pm. Kentucky fans will be on the phone at 2:00 sharp. I would be surprised if some of them join the Boosters club to get an earlier shot.

RE: 14-seed UAB vs 3-seed Iowa State
That is a smart and funny bunch of ISU posters on their message board. Here are some of there hits:

1. Who is UBA (yes UBA) and they actually have a message board?

2. They are 19-15, we win easy.

3. They don't play defense well.

4. They don't shoot the three particularly well.

5. You gotta be good to lose to UCLA.

Yada Yada yada.....lol

It's been a while since this Blazer team has been blown out. And quite frankly I think we are a much different and better team since some of those blowouts.

A loss wouldn't shock me, but I think we have a shot. And I don't expect us to get blown out. I do not think Iowa State will take us particularly seriously.

I think our guys have a tendency to take their foot off the gas pedal when they're up. That's not going to happen in this game. I think playing as underdogs we'll keep the intensity way up.

I'd be fine taking a less than 10 point deficit into halftime.

They are already saying we're disrespecting them.

one of their fans just called us a 'football school'.

I don't know if that's a lack of awareness about college football, or a subtle insult...

For some reason ISU posters believe we are clueless about them. Y'all know Iowa St is located in Des Moines right???

I have seen several times in areas other than the South and among people that don't follow football, think that Alabama-Birmingham refers to Alabama.

RE: 14-seed UAB vs 3-seed Iowa State
Iowa State is for real so it's only natural they they'll have fans that look at us as a cupcake. The one of the things we have as an advantage is the fact that people are so dismissive because of the record, but wise people and good coaches don't do that and the guy at Iowa State is easily on Self's level in my opinion. I know people are looking at blowouts early in the season and the silly losses to bottom tier teams, but records don't matter anymore once you're in.

The guys' team defense has improved so much, but Iowa State is on a whole other level offensively. The key to pulling off the upset is generating more possessions by forcing turnovers and not getting lazy in transition. If Iowa State shows up and gets that train of momentum started, then it'd be tough to stay in the game let alone put them away.

Quote:One guy even said the "Hoiberg is the type of guy that Alabama would go after for a head coaching job." I guess they missed all the NBA teams interested in him

Hey, I made an impression. It's obvious they are clueless enough not to think Alabama would be arrogant enough to go after someone the NBA would be interested enough.

Lurking ISU fans: I never said Hoiberg would be interested in Alabama.

Our beloved Trustees will only accept a championship-caliber coach with great name recognition.

Therefore, I expect them to try to hire Dean Smith.

Some of their posters seem to have a reading comprehension issue. Oh, and they've already use the double-wide trailer joke on us. We don't know nothing about college basketball.

Can someone please start talking Iowa St. Basketball up before their posters slap themselves upside their heads with a ear of corn.

You will soon see someone post on the ISU board "those idiots don't know Dean Smith died"

Should the Blazers prevail against the Cyclones, they'd face the winner between American Athletic Conference champions Southern Miss., coached by hall-of-famer Larry Brown and UCLA in the round of 32.

I hope we play Southern Miss again.

ISU poster ianoconner is a bright one. He or she can't tell when someone is joking. Better keep it simple with this one, yes we know ISU is in Ames, Iowa.
