The real St. Francis, you mean. Not the other.

Was Stetson mad the 64 team field back in the 1990s? I remember hearing the schools name because of their basketball, but disappeared.

No they lost their Conf. title game in the 90s.
I do the wiki page for conference invites and how far the team went.

I made note of the teams that got with in a game but never made it, in my notebook.

Maine, Hartford
USCU, Lipscomb, Stetson
N.Dakota
Gardner-Webb, High Point
Northwestern
William&Mary, Elon
Quinnipiac
UMES, B.-Cookman
St.Francis-Brooklyn, Sacred Heart
UT-Martin
Citadel
Grambling
Denver, W.Illinois, IPFW
Chicago St.

Still 48 schools on the No NCAA tourney list 4 are provisional.

RE: Teams that have never made the NCAA Tourney
I have been looking at scholls who were D1 from the 1960 and up but dropped down. How many of these did not made the tournament?

Northern Michigan left 1980 was in the same conferences with some of the MVC Illinois schools, and Eastern Michigan or something like that up to that time. That conference folded.

NYU left D1 in 1963.

West Texas A&M MVC left in 1985.

Armstrong State Big South left in 1987.

Augusta Big South left in 1990.
Birmingham Southern Big South left in 2007.

Baltimore CAA left in 1983 after shutting down athletics.

Catholic U. CAA left in 1981.

Winston-Salem State MEAC left in 2010.

Trinity, TX Southland left in 1972.

Texas College SWAC left in 1961.

Wiley College SWAC left in 1968.

OKCU Horizen left in 1985.

Hardin-Simmons A-SUN left in 1990.

Cal. State-LA Big West left in 1974 after dropping football.

Cal. Poly-Pomona ? left in 1970s.

Centenary, LA. Summitt left in 2011.

N.E. Illinois Summitt after dropping sports 1998.

United States International left D1 in 1987 after dropping all sports.

I found references that Gettysburg and Muhlenberg left D1 in 1974.

Brooklyn College left D1 in 1992.

West Chester left in 1982.

Plus some Dixie Conference that Florida State founded back in the old days that was still part of D1 until early 1960s before it became an NAIA conference. Mississippi College and Oglethrope were the last 2 added that had Samford and them. The conference folded, and the schools scattered.

Morris Brown was D1 MEAC, but dropped down, and then dropped all sports. They are almost out of business with only 50 students.

Interesting question...

I don't know how many never made the tournament, but Oklahoma City University made the NCAA Division I (or "University/Major College" division using the old name) tournament eleven times making it to the Elite Eight and Sweet 16 several times. Most of those appearances were during the Abe Lemons years. Lemons went on to coach at UTPA (now UTRGV) and Texas before returning to OCU.

In all fairness to Northwestern, they've only been in the Big Ten since 1896 and the Chicago area isn't exactly known for producing good basketball players. They don't have all the advantages of a Florida Gulf Coast or a Norfolk St.

But of all the teams not to advance to the Big Dance, they have the best chance to win a national title.

Towards the bottom of the page, it lists all of the former D-I school that have made it, and when, how far they went, where they are now.

That's a great page!! I added a link to it in the "See Also" section of the "NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship" Wikipedia page to make it a little easier to find.
