Hedge!
(This would hint at limiting access to the grassy area.)

Looks like they are installing hedges/ vines? at the base of the retaining wall below the main structure. I assume this will, ultimately, cover the wall..as per the architects' renderings.

Maybe limiting, but not necessarily preventing, especially if it doesn;t go all the way around to where the seating area meets the grass after they remove the temporary wooden fence. I think I see a small railing there, but there could be a gate in that somewhere as well.

I'm sure they'll want to give the grass some time to grab hold and grow in.

True. I was thinking along those lines as well, to the point of wondering if they did anything to anchor the squares of sod, to keep them from sliding down the hill to the retaining wall if it rains.

I see kids amongst the non-hardhat people checking the place out.

As my daughters would text: "totz jelz"...

I had to ask mine to translate. I hoping she got it right. For those without kids of an appropriate age:

"totz jelz" = totally jealous

I like some of the branding but that's the last step for our facility. I'm guessing that stuff will go in this week. I think our locker room looks better. I like the full wood lockers with the big R. Looks very professional and will age well. The big wall of TVs look nice and I'm sure will impress recruits but it looks like our row of lockers will have 32" TVs or something on the end mounted into the wall. They were just blank spaces during the media tour so I'm assuming they will be TVs. Im not sure how long players would actually sit in the locker room to watch TV when we are gonna have a lounge with an 80" and a 70" next door.

So how much has UH spent of their future students' money now? Or was this privately donated.

Very nice, I especially like the lighting, the UH branding, and the 'Wall of Fame' showing the legends and current NFL Coogs. Though, it's going to be a pain to keep updating those name plates if those guys get traded. lol

The 1-0 thing...Herman got that from Bailiff right? It will make us look like plagiarist if we utilize it, but whatever. There was an earlier post in this thread that detailed some of the art work that will going in the BP EZF.

I'm sure the kids love it, but it just reminded me of a Sport Clips. Probably just the color scheme which they have no control over. :-)

This is Rice we're talking about. Shouldn't they be studying? 03-wink

Yikes! Was anybody else as nervous as I was watching the guys who were standing next to the excavator? I'm gonna take a wild guess and assume that after that piece came flying off when the second column went down, somebody decided it might be wiser to remove people from a work zone with flying metal objects.

Probably was a spotter - just should have been spotting from a more protected area.

I've never really cared for the rah-rah branding in locker rooms, offices and meeting spaces. It makes sense for the fan experience as it adds to the atmosphere of the crowd. From a player's stand point though, I'm not sure why the locker room has to have giant inspirational messaging. With that, I think U of H did a good job of achieving what they were getting after. I look forward to seeing some pics and images of what we put up in our new building. That will probably be the very last thing added I'm sure.

Looks like the first stack of speakers is in place, on the upper-right of the scoreboard.
Lots of people without hardhats running around outside now.

At night, the lights are too bright for the webcam to show inside much, but right now in the dawn you can get a great view of the inside of the main weight room area in the EZF, before the sun angle makes the windows opaque.

The back wall inside is just painted plain blue. I was wondering if they were going to have the large owl graphics on the front windows like in the rendering, or perhaps over the blue wall inside behind the weights?
