ISIS moving into Italy.
The discussion on Morning Joe today was (of course) about ISIS expansion. They talked briefly about ISIS wanting to go into Italy and their stated goal of planting the black ISIS flag in the Vatican, as revenge for the crusades.
Yet Barry still insists this has nothing to do with religion. I have never seen a president this detached from reality.

The Crusades were revenge for Muslim expansion.

Europe is weak and the US has war fatigue. ISIS could cause serious problems.

In other news:
After a cease fire in the Ukraine, Russian troops take another city.
China is building naval "bases" in international waters.

RE: ISIS moving into Italy.
I love all of these scardey pants on this forum. The US is still the premier military power on this planet, hands down. China building a few bases is cute. We have 10 mobile nuclear powered bases with air wings that can handle many nation's entire air force.
You know who has the 2nd largest air force in the world? The United States Navy. We have planes that can end a dogfight before the enemy even knows there is a dogfight to be had. We have 60 year old bombers that can deliver 80,000 lbs of hurt. We have 30 year old bombers that can't be seen on most radars.
We killed Bin Laden with no casualties. We are trained, effective, and mean when we need to be. I sleep well at night, enjoy worrying.

I agree with this, but I am still rooting for Italy to defeat ISIS and for UK Independence so that they can once again become a power that does our bidding. I don't want to be the world's police and I don't trust the Germans, the Russians, or the Chinese and they are the ones controlling their regions right now. We can take care of defending ourselves, but not everyone else. We need allies in power around the world. UK in Europe, Israel in the Middle East, and India in Asia.

I agree with all of this, except for the distrust of Germany. Italy, if invaded, would handle ISIS quickly. Plus let's not forget that Italy is a member of NATO. It would be a cute attempt for ISIS to tangle with that alliance.

Although everything you say is correct, it doesn't seem to offer any deterrence to Russia and China from their expansionary activities.
Is it so farfetched that Russian and Chinese incrementalism might someday lead to Russian moves on the Baltics or Chinese moves on Taiwan? I rather be a "scardy pants" than someone who spends their days looking for polyps.

Germany are pretty reliable right now. China have no reason to attack the US - we are economic rivals, nothing worse. Russia is sort of limited right now by their own economy.
France, Spain, and Portugal are all in a somewhat sorry state considering what they once were at some point in history.
A strong Germany is a very very good thing provided that there are a few other powers in Europe that are on the uptick as well.

ISIS is already in Libya and they're openly talking about making the short trip to Italy. At this point, I see nothing to stop them. Of course they can't occupy territory, but they can burn some adults alive and rape 8 year old girls.

Disagree with the love for Germany, though I understand that is the popular viewpoint right now.

They have undergone a dramatic culture shift since WWII.
Mind you, you're speaking to someone who is the grandson of a German citizen. My mother is 1/2 German, 1/2 black (military marriage + child). My mother used to live over there - and our family does relate to that country somewhat (albeit I'm thoroughbred American).

I don't have a problem with the culture of the German citizenry, I have a problem with the culture of the German elite. Century after century, they have tried to conquer Europe. I highly suspect this whole Euro crisis was intentionally manufactured to that end. They now have control of the banks, can manipulate currency and interest rates, and have become a parasite. They are beginning to use this to take sovereignty from other members. They have repeatedly threatened countries such as the UK with sanctions and political war if they try to leave. I believe the European Union was set up to become the new German empire, not the altruistic democratic hand holding the people were sold. Here is some interesting reading.

And economic dependents...what a strange relationship we have with them.

Not so much War fatigue as fatigue from the whining from the left and them not wanting to finish any war with a victory. It really gets old.

That dude, is your entire problem with this. You're not looking in the right places!
Again...this is just more desperation and empty rhetoric from ISIS.
