Wow...2-3 in our last 5. We have more work to do. We really need to take care of winning at home.

Yep press us out on the perimeter and force hard shots.. Without a true post player it's tough to get open shots when someone is in your face all night ..

No question about that. It's win the CUSA title or CBI (maybe).

It is amazing how this fan base ca be so volatile. I think some of us need some Prozac.
It doesn't. You go to a zone if a team is killing you from the paint and aren't good three point shooters.
People think that every team can play zone. There is a reason why certain teams rely solely on zone defense (think Syracuse and Illinois State), it is what they practice day in and day out.
Amazing how people are complaining about the recruiting, but are wanting us to "upgrade" one of our players to a MAAC student-athlete.
Amazing how people are declaring Ross to be a subpar basketball player (if you take away his freak athleticism) but wanted him to play the 3.
Amazing how some people want to criticize every call the coaching staff makes, but probably have no experience in D1 basketball except for being a fan. I am willing to bet money that the majority of people on this board (pretty much all) didn't play college basketball. Let alone D1.
So when people on this board try to pass their noneducated opinion on what the coaching staff should be doing, I laugh because I seriously doubt those passing judgment every two seconds played a second of D1 ball.

Again.
Can someone tell me a single adjustment we made (and don't give me the garbage token full court pressure) that we made offensively or defensively?
I saw none. I saw a team get picked apart over and over in man to man, allowing them to shoot 70% from the floor and not a single adjustment to try and stop them or change things up.
I'm sorry, but that's piss poor coaching. One trick pony's get old quick.

Too much reliance on RPI.. UAB and WKU are much better than the RPI next to their name. CUSA is a tough conference.. How do you explain UTEP dropping 2 back to back as well on the road... Getting back home will cure this sting..

Ha, very lengthy version of the "Your opinion is invalidated because you haven't played college basketball."

You don't need to know S...about basketball to see what is right in front of your face. Compared to upper level CUSA teams, we're undersized and don't have much in the way of truly skilled players.

Why is this garbage being allowed on this board? If you don't want every thread to go down the drain, t-Mac needs to be given a timeout.
I'm not going to bother responding to this garbage because the simple fact that he doesn't understand how a zone can be useful is enough to let me know about the actual depth of knowledge this poster is "blessed" with.
But the passive aggressive pseudo responses are beyond tiresome.

Come on, ease up on JJ. Just three weeks ago everyone was saying he was the best coach in the universe. Then we go up against a couple of teams on road who have their best games of the season, and he's a goat. I'm not buying that for a minute. We were able to sneak into the top 25 for a week for the first time ever, but, face it, we're not a top 25 team.
We need to regroup, keep competing. If we lose to a team that is better on a given night, suck it up and move on. UAB was great tonight. ODU, not so much. Time to get up, dust ourselves off, and try it again for the first time.

UAB is better than us right now. Won at MT, beat us and nearly won at La Tech. They are going to be the team to beat in the near future with that length. Good grief, 6'9 Mr Basketball in Alabama as a freshman. They have real talent and we are clearly in a rut because the book is out on us.

Many teams play multiple defenses. If the staff doesn't have a zone in there back pocket to pull out when needed, shame on them. And you are the one showing your lack of knowledge by implying that playing zone cannot stop teams from getting open looks from the perimeter. That may be true in farm league, but in college basketball that couldn't be farther from reality. In fact, nearly everybody plays some zone since they cracked down on hand checking a couple years ago.

these Kids can dust themselves off all they want. They will beat most of the bottom feeder teams and lose to most of the upper tier teams. It isn't dissing on anybody. It's my take on what I see. UAB would be better 9 nights out of 10. This year we're mdiocre. Time will tell if JJ can recruit well enough to lift us beyond that.
