That's what happens when your coach doesn't make a single adjustment to force them to do something different the entire game.

Btw, you guys can take the uab logos off your profiles any time you want.

BTW: The players that are kicking our asses are Freshmen. We need to pick up the recruiting in a hurry.

Exactly. They're gonna kick our butts for the forseeable future.

Because it negates the screens that are getting them wide open threes. Contrary to popular opinion a good zone does not give up open threes.

I was thinking the same thing, just like our losses in football, we get behind early and just can't catch up. Also, noticed a lot of our jump shots were short tonight, don't know if there is anything to that or not.

It is amazing how this fan base ca be so volatile. I think some of us need some Prozac.

Our fan base is manic-depressive.

A 3-2 zone or a 1-2-1 can help give you a different look. It can at the very least give them something to think about.

But doing the same thing over and over again that isn't working and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.

Exactly...UAB would have beat most Top25 teams tonight ..they were on fire..

So now they JJ needs to be fired posts... If you watch much basketball you eventually realize it's an up and down year..

You got it. This is not the fault of JJ... yet. I give him two more years to recruit a higher quality player. If he can't, then it's on him. Right now I think he's doing pretty damned well with the cards he was dealt. And i think the team in general is still miles ahead of where anybody would have expected two years ago. Patience is the word.

although not happy with how we played last two games . . . i will take 15-4. need to concentrate on bigger, physical guards and talented big man who is skilled around the basket. maybe the Pervier will be that next year, who knows. and i still want that spot on three point shooter that i have been waiting for since Blaine's tenure. seems like every team has one.

RE: UAB
Looks like good CUSA teams and coaches (Davis, Harper, Haase) have found a formula to beat ODU. Even when we are playing CUSA bottom feeders, there will no easy games the rest of the way.

RE: UAB
I think our at large hopes just died today. Two losses to sub-100 teams in a row probably did us in.

JJ is what he is. A career .57% winner (or there abouts). We'll be a 57% team or there abouts.

RE: UAB
My report cart for the game:

Bacote and Freeman: B (need to create more shots for your supporting cast. I know our only offense was through them this game, but we are way too one dimensional and this "team" has completely lost face now. Where are the dribble drives for the wide open 3 point shots from Mosley and Baker? Still, these guys did well)

Supporting guards: D (they did pretty much nothing the entire game)

Inside game: D- (pure garbage. Out-rebounded. Didn't stop anything on defense. Zero shots created, too many turnovers)

Coaching: F (lost a lot of respect for our "game" and "system" today. Zone needed to be played in the first half and second half, but we didnt go to it. Our offense was one dimensional and seemed to have been drawn up on a playground by a middle schooler...aka, let your two best players dribble the ball around and shoot it before the shot clock runs out. Not once did I see us play any inside out game. Not once did a forward flash to the top of the key for a pass. Not once did I see our screens actually give us an open shot, which is astounding since UAB was playing man to man the entire game..... F)

The NIT is hard to get into now. Mostly for P5 schools.
