seeing posts on facebook about a SACs investigation due to Faculty vote and I am sure due to lack of response from BOT and Chancellor. Could be good or bad, but I hope they stick it to BOT.

Something is going on behind the scenes at UAB. Unfortunately, I have no idea because it is very hush hush. I have zero clues, so it must be really big or it could be nothing at all.

I would also guess a flood of letters also helped as well.

It's like a house on rotten stilts. Once you start kicking that first rotten stilt out, the pressure on all the others increases.
This is our chance to clear out the whole rotten neighborhood. Short term, we might have hurt football. Long term, this is the moment we get to forge our own destiny in all aspects, athletic and academic.

The guy f-ed up and got out of the way, but is still consistently vilified in the facebook group on an hourly basis.

Of course he is. He took hush money. Regardless of what happens he should be ashamed for that especially since he was an athlete here.

Mackin needs to come forward and tell everyone what happened, but he will never do that.

I am so sick of people trashing Brian and Wes Smith for doing nothing other than the best they could under very trying circumstances. And stating as a matter of fact (when they have no facts) that they took hush money, payoffs, signed NDAs, are secret BOT stooges, and are connected to every secret cabal from Skull & Bones to the Tri-Lateral Commission.

That's what has been reported. Frankly, i hope he did because the alternative is that he was complicit in this whole operation and is allowing his name to be smeared by Watts.

if he didn't, thats even worse...then he's kept his mouth shut about program interference and can't even use the excuse that he's financially looking out for his family.
either way, in my opinion, he's a villain in all of this. if he's not, great...i hope he explains why he isn't
(disclaimer...i have no inside knowledge and I'm only acting as a juror in the court of public opinion)

I don't know, I think all of you people who go to work every day should be quitting your jobs so you can camp out at the UAB administration building 24/7 until football is reinstated. I mean, why aren't you willing to risk your livelihood like you are demanding of some of these people, right?

First, no one has asked anyone to spend evry waking moment fighting this. We've only aked for honesty.
Second, Mackin has made more money from this school than i will make in 10 years. He can well afford to speak up about what is happening.
Third, were I to have the information he has, I would gladly come forward with it. No job is worth compromising principles (hard to believe, I know).

RE: SACS Investigation
I've been identified by name on this board, I'm pretty easy to look up, and I'll be happy to provide my CV upon request.
Thing is, Brian Mackin and Wes Smith, if they have a strategy, it doesn't seem to make any sense. Ray Watts has established that he is completely under the thumb of the BoT powers that be, so for Wes Smith to try his best to work with Watts seems naive, at best. Maybe Mackin is in for the long con and has something up his sleeve once the house of cards completely collapses, but if he cared about UAB athletics his chance to throw a wrench in the plans was months ago. Perhaps he fears for his family, in which case he should have left town months ago and given us a heads up then.
I'm giving some faculty and administrators the benefit of the doubt because I can see a strategy there (assuming it is a strategy and not more disappointment), but Wes and Mackin seem like the purveyors of weak leadership with little to lose by taking a stronger stance.
I could be wrong, but a lot of people's guts say no. I HOPE they have a strategy that is better in the long term, but right now we have to focus on SACS and Montgomery. Mackin can be dealt with later. Wes may have to be dealt with sooner if it is advantageous or it appears he can hurt UAB's cause again.

Can't argue with that! I did however, give my anonymous bio following Cajunblazer's questioning of my motives. So at least we know that much.
