The old one

This is a rendering but it looks more like this, and it shows it's based on the new CTS.

Aren't they making an ATS-V too? Might be too much engine for that car.

Yea, they are.

I think it looks too boy racerish for my taste. The CTS-V can get that look in the wrong colour.

I wish Cadillac wouldn't get rid of the wreath in their badge. If they keep going it will eventually turn into a shield with some stylistic wings to make it look edgy.

Like one of their old ones?

I wasn't a fan of the new 'smooshed' badge at first either but it actually looks better on the new Cadillac faces.

$70K for that Cadillac? That's a hell of a lot of money for a car IMO.

And, yes I know I posted a classic Shelby Cobra but affordability wasn't the point of that post.

$70,000 realist?

I like cars.

I'd be willing to bet the new V will be close to $100k with Cadillac's new take on pricing and the fact the car will be the best in the world, for now, at what it is.

03-lmfao

Just did the google on that thing.

At the risk of threadjacking and making someone angry I'm gonna shift gears (ha) here a bit. It was falling off the page anyway.

But, several of you seem to know your cars. So, let me ask a question for some of you.

I've got a teenage son. Needs a car. Reliable, maybe some fun, but not too much fun... Mileage doesn't scare me all that much, my cars have gone 175k, 244, 203 and currently 185k with some higher end maintenence on two of them (one a tranny the other a cat converter), the others oil changes, tires and maybe a 02 sensor kind of stuff but that's about it.

So what would you guys be looking for? I like the MAzda3's I think, which model year(s)? Honda may be a good pick up. Etc.

Looking for something in the 6500-10k range probably, think that would get a decent first car, something he could use for a few years then give to his sister when I kick him out.

Whatcha got?

A little under 40k miles.

In my personal experience a Jag is a better made car than anything German.

I had a jag that was nothing but problems. That being said, the F-Type is a bad mamma jamma and is on my list of possibilities.

I've got to start narrowing it down a little.

F-type coupe
Porsche Cayman
Lexus RC350
Audi RS5/S5

We bought our now 19 year old a Mazda 3 Hatchback (not the S). We've had it for a year and it is a very good car so far, and now that he is in college I drive it to work a lot. It is very good on gas.

My daughter is taking over my wife's Camry LXE (4 cylinder). We haven't had an issue with it in the 3 years we have had it. It is spacious, quick, and very good on gas. Is loaded with bells and whistles.

Late-90s Honda Accord 4 cyl. Would go 500,000 miles if you let it.

Mid-80s diesel Mercedes. If you want dead simple reliability but are afraid about going anywhere fast.

Chevy Astro minivan. Kills his libido and lowers his coolness factor. Unless, of course, he paints it like a Shaggin' Wagon with wizards and lighting and carpets the interior in shag, then all bets are off. Also, this would be weird for your daughter.

My personal choice would be the Jag.

Picking a two door car, which is a car not really 'useful' per se, is all about which one you like more.

That said, I would only want the R model of the F-Type. When you add that in it becomes the most expensive by a mile of those.

The Audi would probably be the second choice. Those are good looking cars and aren't really like the Porsche or Jag because they do have some sort of utility and you can fit luggage in them.

The Lexus would be right out for me. I despise Lexus cars. But, that's a personal thing.

My dislike for the Porsche is just sort of elitest, "why couldn't you get a 911?"

I would say an old Jeep may fit the bill. It's cool and regardless of what happens to it you can fix it for dirt cheap. There is also really never a reason to get rid of one so your daughter can drive it after that.

I started sniffing around as it's slooooow around here today, alot of people out cause of the weather.
Found a '06 Mazda 3 S (what's the difference there, between S and no S?) 99k miles for 5500 bucks. Website CarGurus (never heard of it before but seems pretty good) says "Great Deal" $2000 below market value.

A price like that I'd consider it a steal if it lasted us 2-3 years. It's a manual, black and looks in pretty good condition. hunh.

I'll also look at the Accord, Camry, Maybe the Altima and Maxima also.

My brother has had two Maximas going back to around '95 (?) or so, and has gotten a buttload of miles out of each of them. The older one he just gave up a couple years ago or so. Well over 200k miles. Still a nice ride too.

I got rid of our 97 Town and Country mini van that served to tote them around as infants about year and a half ago, 203k miles.

I threatened him with that thing more than once! 03-lmfao

Nice though, leather, capt's chairs etc. haha

His buddy just got a 99 I think for 700 bucks. Kid couldn't be more excited. Put in a bumping bluetooth/ipod ready new stereo and speakers for a couple hundred bucks and he loves it. I'd love to find one like that!

What model years do you like on the M3? And whats the S stand for?

The Outback is so freaking hot around here for whatever reason that you'll pay above market value to get one.

The others, I'm trying to get something around 5-10 grand, not sure iof the Fiats and volvos would fit in there, would they?
