NDSU Fcs semifinal game & title games had 1.4 million.

My constant fight with fellow NDSU fans say Fcs titles are better than lower-mid tier bowls.....I think bowls are better but the ratings don't say so,

I think for the ratings it's a matter of sheer numbers. There are probably a lot of FCS fans that will watch the FCS championship game (and semifinals) because it's only a few games. There's what, 40 bowls? So you get the fans of the 2 teams, and some diehard football fans thrown in, and that's about it for the lesser bowls. If there were even 10 fewer bowls I think the ratings would be noticeably higher.

ESPN televises FCS games starting with the quarter finals, so a total of 7 FCS games are televised. Some Friday but most Saturday. New Hampshire is the only football playing Division 1 university in that state(12K undergrads). NDSU was playing for it's 4th straight title which has never been done before in FCS and only once in any other division so that factor would draw fans. ISU is one of the largest universities in FCS (16K+) Sam Houston made the final 4 and their enrollment at 13K+ is larger than several FBS Texas universities, Delaware didn't make it in this year but they often do and their enrollment is almost 17K. Towson played in the title game last year vs NDST, their enrollment is 16500,

There are several FCS universities with sizeable enrollments and in states where they are either the big draw or have involved fanbases.
