Damn!03-hissyfit That eliminates me, then. 03-hissyfit03-bangheadA suggestion, though. How many local businesses that are pro-UAB would consider involving themselves and their employees on filling out and mailing these forms in? I know of at least 3 across the street from where I work that I can reach out to and ask about doing so. Feasible?

Good on you, Anubus! I'm got a couple of relatives that are not connected to UAB that I'm going to ask about filling out forms. Man, I wish I could fill & send!

Would it be helpful if other CUSA fans sent these in? Can we even send them?

If you haven't sent yours in yet, using today's article RE: Finis Protects his Turf would be beneficial.

That's why I posted a thread over at the CUSA bbs site asking them to print up, sign and mail some forms in as soon as possible just a few minutes ago.

I got a couple of family members not connected with UAB to fill out theirs, and trying to get more.

It is going to be so sweet to watch FSJ4 get kicked off the Board. Maybe the state bar will reprimand him too.

GN - is there a reason you split the two complaints up? Is there a requirement that each violation be listed on a separate complaint form?

I may hand deliver mine... depending on whether I stay in Birmingham until the meeting on Thursday or go back to Atlanta tonight after the NAS meeting.

I sent both complaints (four total copies, in two separate envelopes) via certified mail last Thursday, and received delivery confirmations for both complaint forms today.

Thanks much for the template forms, Grammar Nazi!

So basically, we need to just make sure when SACS is here on the 24-26th of February, there's so much controlled chaos going on here in the form of protests and rallies they won't be able to look the other way and deny there's still a problem.

Man, if the BOT is behind this, they're exceedingly arrogant to the point of stupidity. Not only did they take out football and 2 other sports in the most rash and authoritarian form imaginable, but they did so right before a group which decries these sorts of proceedings is coming to campus for its 10-year review! If they would have taken the slow route instead, and just let football die its slow death in 2 years as was the original plan, they would have had 8 whole years until SACS came back around and their impact might not have been that great.

Of course in that case, they might have had to endure a C-USA championship for Coach Clark in 2015...but now? This is like waving a smoking gun right in the officer's face! They're almost certainly going to have to be removed! I can feel the winds of change blowing...

Oh, and these new BS "don't speak out against us" clauses for these 4 head coaches are just more fuel to the fire! 05-stirthepot

Ugh, I'm disappointed in myself. We should have had a SACS pow-wow after the USGA meeting tonight. Or maybe we did. I don't know. I left the meeting in jubilation at 7:20 after the vote took place and didn't return. Ugh. What the hell was I thinking? Well, I guess I don't know what I don't know...

I sent in 3... the 2 posted on here by GN and 1 of my own. Mailed 2 copies of each. Timing did his us perfectly as UAB is up for SACs re-accreditation in 2015 which only happens every 10 years.

RE: SACS Third-Party Comments Due Jan. 15
Here is the SACS Delegation from Alabama:
Of note is an Attorney at Sirote, Permutt, W. Todd Carlisle, & The President of Samford University, Andrew Westmoreland.
Anyone have connections here? >> http://www.sacscoc.org/al_members.asp

Also, the President of Samford University, Andrew Westmoreland is the Chair of Board of SACS COC
>> http://www.sacscoc.org/commorg1.asp

The February Date is On Campus Visit, 6 weeks after the Focused Report was due on Jan. 13th
>> http://www.uab.edu/accreditation/accreditation

Read carefully the following selection from:

"At the culmination of the QEP, the Commission on Colleges sends an on-site committee of professional peers to the campus to assess the educational strengths and weaknesses of the institution. The written report of the committee helps the institution improve its programs, refine its QEP, and also provides the basis on which the Commission decides to grant, continue, reaffirm, or withdraw accreditation.

During a typical three-day visit (Feb 24-26, 2015 for UAB), committee members examine data and conduct interviews in order to evaluate the soundness of the QEP and ascertain whether the institution is in compliance with the Principles. The committee offers written advice to the institution, develops a consensus on its findings, and completes a draft report. Finally, the committee presents an oral summary in an exit report to the chief executive officer and invited institutional officials on the last day of the visit.

The departure of the committee from campus does not mark the end of the reaffirmation process. The visiting committee report and the response of the institution to the findings of the committee are reviewed by the Committee on Compliance and Reports, a standing committee of the Commission. The Committee on Compliance and Reports recommends action on reaffirmation to the Executive Council of the Commission. The Executive Council in turn recommends action to the Commission on Colleges, which makes the final decision. These decisions are announced to the College Delegate Assembly during its annual business session."

This would be a good time for AMPED UP SACS Protests.

Alabama-Tuscaloosa's review falls one week after ours. Surely we need to support our country cousins by shining a light on the Trustees' interference there as well.

I would think we can call be pretty comfortable in the fact he's aware of what all has been going on the last 6 weeks since he lives in Bham.

Yes. And contacting SACS officials outside regular channels will only damage our cause. Watts and the Trustees broke the rules and conducted the public's business in private.

Do you think it's better having someone so close to the source that is obviously going to be aware of current events or do you think he's more susceptible to political pressure being from Bham?
