The more I think about this the more I believe Memphis Blazer is correct. If a Fox Sports journalist wanted to get info about the validity of the claims, all they have to do is contact a local journalist who could provide them with the timeline, and maybe even some off the record info... Why contact the O.P. About this?

I'm not sure how well reporters work together, but I could see how local reporters might resent reporters from the national media trying to swoop in and use the information and sources they worked hard to develop. I don't know how much the local reporters might cooperate under those circumstances.

Point him to AttallaBlaze. It sounds more like there there is a very lazy journalist that has picked up an assignment they really don't care about.

RE: Anyone else contacted personally by Fox Sports about the UAB situation?
I spoke to the reporter at length today. Here is the angle that he is looking for to get the go ahead to do the report and air it in the near future. He wanted to know who he could talk to that could verify or give strong evidence that the Carr Report was designed to eliminate UAB football. He wants to talk to people who can go on camera and testify that this was the intention of the Carr Report and that the conclusion was pre-determined in relation to shutting down UAB football. He also wanted to know who he could talk to about the interference of the BOT into UAB's athletic affairs. I recommended he speak to Pat Sullivan, Watson Brown, Carol Garrison, Murray Bartow, Charlie McCallum and Garrick McGhee. He stayed on the phone with me a long time as I outlined the pattern of abuse going back to the start of the athletics program under Gene Bartow. I did tell him about all the NDA's that keep some people from talking. I think this guy is legit.

Did he not read the Carr report ? 11 months in the making and it had 2 paths. One with football and one without football.
==========
Dr. W. Ann Reynolds - University of Alabama at Birmingham (1997 – 2003)
In 1997 she was named president of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she established successful capital campaigns and new programs in arts, math and science to develop local teens into college-bound students. Despite having one of the highest salaries as president in the country, she continued to serve on several corporate boards, resulting in frequent absences from the university, a practice different from her predecessors and successors. In 2003, Reynolds claimed she was forced out of the presidency because of gender and age, and filed a federal discrimination complaint. She charged that system chancellor Thomas C. Meredith treated her "in a demeaning and sexist manner," including having her stand in line in the rain to buy theater tickets for him, restricting her contact with board members, and after firing her in 2002, offering her a retirement package less than those offered to other outgoing presidents.[8] She accepted a one-year position as director of the university's Center for Community Outreach and Development from 2002 to 2003.

Yes, what was the reporters name? Simple question.

I would prefer that the name not be mentioned at this time.
If it is legit, the story will be released & credit can be given then.
The evil ones knowing up front about this may cause interference.

I would think Frank Messina would be a perfect interviewee. He sat in meetings with Carr sports as they intentionally misled everyone.
