Jesus. That point-blank violates the conflict-of-interest disclosure clause SACS has for BOT members.

Bryant Bank, on the other hand ...

RE: New Trustee
Bryant's replacement has probably been in the works for a long time and is already decided. If they don't appoint a UAB person ( I'll be shocked if they do) then it's just another weapon we can use as we lobby for BOT reform.

Just incredible! I guess they believe they are untouchable.

But no mention of it here - http://uasystem.ua.edu/members-of-the-bo...-p-brooks/

They ARE untouchable. And there's nothing we can do about it.

You are fighting a losing battle. The ONLY way is for the University At Birmingham to break away and elect their own Board of Trustees. Only then will UAB prosper, BIG TIME. U of A will then probably go belly up like a fish out of water. U of A has sapped off of UAB for long enough.

There are three possible ways for this conflict to be resolved (though the BOT would not acknowledge that any conflict exists): (1) The BOT could be equitably apportioned (like the state legislature is supposed to be);(2) the formation of a separate Board for each school in the system (requires a state referendum which would be viewed as anti Crimson Tide so good luck with that) and (3) a State Board of Regents like Florida has running all state universities (supposedly) without prejudice for any one campus (again requiring a state referendum with all major universities probably opposed since the fiefdom culture of the state is probably present in the leadership at all schools).
