As we all know, PB jr. has to leave the board in February due to age. I think we should start an effort with the Senate (starting with the Senate Pro Tem) to 'only confirm a UAB or UAH grad' as his replacement.

I know we are working the legislative channels to restructure the board, but that could take some time. Perhaps this is something that the Senate would be open to, given the recent PR train wreck with the BOT. I believe the current Pro Tem is an Auburn guy, so that couldn't hurt.

Anyone know what vote (2/3's or just a majority) is required for confirmation?

I thought the current pro tem was Karen Brooks, an employee of Bryant Bank.

I thought the current pro tem was Karen Brooks, an employee of Bryant Bank.

She is the pro tem of the UA BOT. I believe Del Marsh is the current Senate pro tem.

Watts is a UAB grad.

They'll just find somebody that fits the same bill. Only viable solution is for a 5-5-5 and UAB having its own committee to select their board members.

I had read in one report that there were five on the BoT with links to Bryant Bank. I only know of three, PBJ, Brooks, and Humphreys since her husband Bobby is also employed by Bryant Bank. That's 20% of the board.
