And you say better women, what exactly do you mean? More obedient? Cook more? You didn't say better looking. Just trying to clarify.
Location: River, rolling hills, VERY little freezing temperatures (read: bikini weather most of the time).
Better women: Better looking, more obedient, good at cooking, can hold their liquor, more questionable morals.
Depends on the preference of the individual. A single male would probably see the advantages of San Marcos... A family man with Kids probably would see the advantages of a Mountain trip.

Better women: Advantage Texas State
Better location: Advantage Texas State
Lost to Liberty: Advantage App
We call that: Games, Set, Match.
That better woman thing is in the eye of the beholder. I would agree that TXST has better looking women, but to those Appsters the goats up there in Boone are second to none.

You want family friendly? San Marcos river. Guadalupe river. Schlitterbahn (if you don't know what this is... Google it, FREAKING AWESOME). PLENTY of family friendly events.
I know this because San Marcos was a vacation destination when I was a kid.

I hear ya, but I still wouldn't side with Texas St.
Most of the attractive co-edsI know are looking for a man that can impress bowl committees.

Your argument is that San Marcos WAS a vacation destination WHEN you WERE a kid?
Boone is a huge vacation draw year round, even when it is freezing sometimes more so.
TX ST*
*Did not play App in second half of season post Liberty loss, when they were the undisputed top team of SBC.

No, you misunderstand.
San Marcos was a vacation spot for families from when I was a kid until current. As a college student, it was a destination spot and still is. As an adult, it is still a vacation spot.
The point is, it's got something for everyone and is in the middle of 3 of the top 4 vacation spots in Texas.
App State* is nice and all, but it doesn't compare as far as locations.
*Did not have the chance to get whooped by Texas State

RE: [split] The continual Louisiana Lafayette-Georgia Southern Pissing Match
As a "goathumping hillbilly blah blah", I really do wish we had fewer tourists in the High Country. Too many effin' Florida license plates damn near year round. All of my favorite fishing holes are poached in the Summer by HalfBack Yankees with no respect for our rivers. The only thing I know about San Marcos, other than it seems to be much prettier than Wichita Falls according to a Google search, is that Daniel Johnston mentioned it in his MTV debut in the 80s. I only spent about a year in Texas, in San Antonio and Wichita Falls. Had 2 of your lovely ladies, grossing a good 500 lbs, call me a Yankee for being from NC and born in Richmond. I asked them if they realized Richmond was the capitol of the Confederacy and they looked at me as if I was "talkin mexkin". I would love to visit down there in San Marcos sometime, nonetheless. I was stationed in Little Rock for several years, and met enough Texans while I was in the military to know there's not a damn flaw in that state in a Texan's eyes. I like that kind of pride in one's "homeland." Pretty looking river running through, any trout? Go Apps.

Bass, Small and Big Mouth, Sunfish, Perch . . . Not sure about Trout, though I suspect not . . . If you're a boater, there's a annual race from San Marvelous to the Coast, otherwise, it's a great river for tubing. . . . My father was army, spent a lot of years in NC . . Ft. Bragg, beautiful state, love the smokey' s in the fall . . . .

Yeah, the way Texans view it... It's Texas, and then the rest.
In other countries, people ask you where you're from, and folks say "America". Folks from Texas just say "Texas".
Yankee, Confederate... It's just Texan and non-Texan.
Can it be annoying? Sure. But it's just how we are.

All valid statements, and Texas does have some beautiful women. They're all tall, blonde, and tons of fun....based on my past experiences.

My daughter and her family moved to Cibolo, TX (near San Antonio) a year ago and my granddaughter in 2nd grade learned the pledge allegiance to Texas before anything else besides her teacher's name. True story.

Sounds similar to my childhood here in Texas.
