Taurean Thompson, a 4 star PF whom ODU offered, trimmed his list of schools for consideration and removed ODU. He has narrowed it down to Michigan State, Seton Hall, and Syracuse.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. He's not using a scholarship, and if he develops into something more than a practice player, we're the better for it. . . . It does make you wonder if anyone else is coming who can step in immediately.

its obvious that we have some irons in the fire, but so does everyone else in the country who are selling the hell out of their programs. hopefully we'll get some good news...I wonder if they'll do some recruiting while they are over seas this off season. probably not budget conducive to do that all the time, but they're going to be over there already.
I mean, we have to be serious. Mauras is a walk on. Fields is a modified walk on. Caver is a scholarship point guard. You never know but, Caver should have a huge lead on those guys. I haven't seen Mauras, but Fields appears to be very good for a walk on level player.

A grad transfer PG would be great for this team.
Agreed...As of right now, Caver is our starting point guard and will be receiving the majority of the minutes. I have heard that in practice last year, Ahmad made some plays that no other guard could make. He is an outstanding rebounder and an outstanding passer. He knows what he needs to work on in the offseason.

I'm comfortable with Ahmad's ability to run the offense. He doesn't need to put up Trey (or even Bacote) type of numbers on offense. 10-12 pts per game out of him would be fine. I would like to see him become a legitimate threat from behind the arc and he needs to improve the FT shooting if he's going to have the ball in his hands at the end of the game.

If we get that, I'll be thrilled, and ODU will be dancin'.
At the end he talks a bit about recruiting, and dropped this one:
"ODU is also attempting to secure a visit this weekend from Caleb and Cody Martin, twin wings who are transferring from N.C. State. The Martins visited Rutgers last weekend and were slated to come to ODU next. But that's not a done deal."
I did not realize that wasn't a done deal for them to visit us.

perhaps it means they have made their decisions? or it could mean they just don't want to come. or it could mean something else. good god I hate the off season.
