I'm getting more stoked about Fields by the day.

I've been wondering if we are recruiting Davis or Ingram of Norcom? I see where Davis was picked on the 2nd team all state. I think he is a junior. Seems to be a good 3 point shooter. If we are interested then he could sign as early as November this year.

Rather worrisome (to me) fact: Look at how many of the All-Tidewater selections are seniors -- and how few of them know where they were going to college next year. It either doesn't say much for the caliber of ball in the area this year, the caliber of the Tidewater education, or both.

Our caliber of playing is very strong. Just think back to what Blaine used to say in the old days though about kids getting into school though. That's your problem right there. Maybe Coach might have something to add?

This may be urban legend, but I've heard that some time ago, one year's All-Tidewater lineup was 100 percent non-qualifier. Not sure if it was first team only or second team as well, but even so.

I don't know it to be fact, but I also wouldn't have any problem believing it, on either side of the water

So with Travis Fields being named 3A Player of the year in Virginia, that means we now have three Virginia Players of the Year as Monarchs next year. Trey Porter, Randy Hayes and Travis Fields. I remember when we had two in Mario Mullen and Odell Hodge ! I like what that article Punk posted has to say about Fields toughness. Can't teach that! And that his HS coach thinks he will be special due to his hard work habits.

I think we got a steal Monarch fans. And for those who say he is short. He is taller then the star point guard for Kentucky. You can't measure "want to"!

I'm certainly hoping he turns out to be a steal, but will reserve judgment til we see how he progresses. There has to be a reason absolutely no D-1 program in the country offered. Next trey freeman?? let's hope so.

Getting a Player of the Year without burning a scholarship is a steal regardless. Let's hope he makes a big splash.
