I agree...and I hate that line of thinking. If there is a mismatch on one end of the court, there is also one on the other end. You don't have to make YOUR team weaker just because you have a bad defensive matchup. A zone occasionally would also help.

No recommendation either way, just some information. Got a chance to see Simpkins week before last in the semis of the Tidewater Conference tourney against Norfolk Collegiate. Gym was packed and it was a big game. He seemed really hyped, almost to the detriment of his game. He lost the ball multiple times on the dribble. Slashing and scoring at the rim seemed to be his forte, once he got going in the 2nd half. To make it in college, I think someone will need to work on his shooting mechanics. He does something odd with his hand at the top of his shot. He could have good shooting games, but it might be tough being good consistently.
He was athletic, quick, and had a nice variety of finishes at the rim. Think he scored in the mid teens in a loss. That is the only game I've seen him play so admittedly minor sample size. He did score 32 in his next game in the State playoffs, a loss to Benedictine in OT.

Tucker had a good year for Panola. 13.5 ppg, 8.5 assists (but almost 3 turnovers). Shot 77% from the line and 41.5% from deep.

Interesting fact about Cha Cha Tucker: He is one of Jabari Parker's best friends and his dad is Parker's agent.

Why did he leave Tennessee State ? He played a decent amount even received freshman honors for a week in conference?? Panola sounds interesting - springboard for transfers that don't want to sit out a year and keep fresh ..

Obiwan, probably like our recruit Evans, wants to play in a bigger conference but just guessing.

How does that mean the team is weaker? Is Talley going to post someone up? Does he have post up skills?
We were abused defensively in both games vs. Rice when Talley was on the court. Both games, we gave up over 1.2 points per possession with him on the floor.

we must have jumped on Tucker while looking at Kah. Looks like Tucker's team played Kah's team a couple of times this season.

Well yes. He is going to post someone up...and yes, he does have post skills especially against a 6'2 guy.

I haven't seen him post anyone up and score, but I will take your word for it. I guess Jones chose defense over offense then.

I don't think it's as much about being a bad matchup as It was Jones was not happy with the effort Talley was giving on defense. Talley has the quickness to play defense on a smaller guy but he was allowing his man to beat him off the dribble. Jones was going to play the guy giving him the best effort on the floor.

Could be good timing if the cat wants to come play for an up and coming, winning program. One of the few spots we could use help at.
