About half the regular crowd in black including some uab officials. Golden girls in black.

Yeah, this was a big deal. I don't care if it was a non d1 school, we needed the community there. Great job to the students though, and I hope they keep it up this year.

Morehead is not a non d 1 team. They may be a future OVC conference opponent.

I don't understand this focus on Watts thing. I agree he must go but until we are completely free of the BOT they will just put another puppet in his place. Granted, I would prefer another puppet to the one we have but all real pressure possible must be aimed at the BOT.

We need Watts removed & we need the ability to build our own stuff without being kept down by the BOT.

Without our own destiny in our hands it would take at least 5 to 6 years to just being decent again.

Ridding ourselves of Watts is a revenge thing, but if successful, it will cause the movement to grow and we will have grown more powerful.

The good thing about it is that I don't see us getting 2 death penalties.

C'mon Man! I was stating I don't care if it was a non d1 school, we needed our community there. As in, I don't care who we were playing, we needed it, and we didn't get it. I'm as aware as anybody about what schools are and are not division 1.

My statement was based off of disappointment in the community.

I knew you knew, but your post could have been read the other way. Plus it set up my line about the OVC.

Nice the event staff didnt try to stop the court gathering. I bet it would have been nasty if they had.

I am embarrassed by people not at that game who say they are UAB supporters and live in the metro.

The students are fighting for their lives out there EVERY DAY and when they should be studying for finals they came out in droves to make a stand for UAB Athletics. And the "fans" can't get their butts there on a Thursday night at 7pm?

There's no "Wednesday night church" excuse now.

Just pathetic.

Then they expect these students to come back for other games when Bartow Arena looked 2/3 empty.

Student turnout was awesome, but VERY disappointed in the rest of the crowd. If I can manage to wrangle 9-month old twins in that arena from 30 minutes till tipoff all the way to the postgame student deal, there is no excuse for anyone else.

I agree with that, but we just don't have, not yet, the means to reach the regular alumni/fans the same way we do with the students and obviously they don't yet grasp that they don't have to sit back and take it. The athletic department won't help us, not openly. We never thought we'd have to build an alternative network.

The students were awesome last night, like they have been all week. And thanks for thw twin-wrestling.

Yes. Seems like it is up to the students now & take a stand.

Take a stand & don't take crap from no one.

Demand facilities, demand football, demand whatever you want.

The students can demand all they want, but to get anything done, you are going to need big time donors who didn't show up demanding things.

Yes, other stuff will have to happen as well.
