Uh Oh...UNC Scandal Bigger Than We Thought
There's a story in the VP about the UNCheat academic scandal being much bigger than previously thought. I guess that means the NCAA will be so mad at UNC, that they'll give ODU the death penalty! At the least, Pervier won't win his appeal for a second year of eligibility.

I think everyone who followed the story closely knew how big it is, but ESPN wasn't interested in covering it, presumably because Jameis Winston doesn't play there, so those who didn't have a strong interest in the story weren't aware of the depth of it. I am sure now that everything has starting being brought out to the public, we will still hear a lot more about Jameis, crablegs, and a rape that has been found to lack evidence by what seems to be damn near every law enforcement agency in America though.

FYI - Interesting that the HC at JMU, Withers, refused to be interviewed or to cooperate with the investigation (last page of the official report). Wonder how the folks at JMU feel about that? I have also been told that if the NCAA follows up he will not have the option to refuse.

Living in central NC, this has been the subject of sports talk radio here for four years, of course, it dominated today. Hard to believe it went on for 18 years.

Unbelievable.
It doesn't even fall under the category of "lack of institutional control", as UNC was completely in control; to the highest levels.
This makes what SMU did look no worse than inadvertently peeing on the seat in the men's room.

And yet, I somehow have a feeling UNC will get to skate on all this mess. Hope I am wrong but just a feeling I have.

Now I am sure the NCAA is going sanction Fishburne Military School's basketball program, just to give Donte Hill one final screwing.

Unc is submitted the report to the NCAA. Not sure why that didn't work for Penn State. Be interesting to see what they get (punishment wise). Way worse than FSU or Minnesota. Both schools lost records, scholarships, and postseason play. Hell Bowden lost some wins. Could they get the death penalty? It'll be interesting to see how this plays out over the next couple months

SO... that means that technically, last year's football game at UNC could turn out to be a victory...

Heh.
Don't they just vacate the wins though? I don't think we get to claim it do we?

well, if they vacate the win it means they didn't win which means we didn't lose. I'll take that.

Yeah, off the record and out of the history books. After all, if we weren't technically CAA champs in 2012, why not?

Dont be like that. Some Tech fans tried to claim the same thing when it was thought that USC would have to vacate all of their 2004 wins, and it would put a win in Techs vtop 5 infamous record. It was sad how some were adamant it was a legit victory six years after the fact.

No worries. All tongue in cheek. ODU deserves 3 losses for that performance.
