RE: Basketball Games on American Sports Network
13 games on ASM, 1 on CBS, 14 games on TV in total. Luckily for us, or me at least, is almost all the games on TV are away games! Means I won't have worry about my internet connection while watching the game!

American Sports Network
Tuesday, November 18 Richmond at Old Dominion 8:00 p.m.
Wednesday, December 17 Georgia State at Old Dominion 8:00 p.m.
Monday, December 29 Mount St. Mary’s at Old Dominion 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, January 4 Old Dominion at Charlotte 1:00 p.m.
Saturday, January 10 Old Dominion at WKU 5:30 p.m.
Thursday, January 22 Old Dominion at Middle Tennessee 8:00 p.m.
Saturday, January 24 Old Dominion at UAB 5:30 p.m.
Thursday, February 12 Old Dominion at UTSA 8:00 p.m.
Thursday, February 19 Southern Miss at Old Dominion 5:30 p.m.
Saturday, February 21 Louisiana Tech at Old Dominion 3:00 p.m.
Saturday, February 28 Old Dominion at North Texas 5:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 5 Marshall at Old Dominion 8:00 p.m.
Saturday, March 7 WKU at Old Dominion 5:30 p.m.

CBS Sports Network
Friday, November 21 Old Dominion vs. LSU (Paradise Jam) 6:30 p.m.

The VCU game on Nov 29th is on CSN+

Also, if we win in the Paradise Jam, those next 2 games will be televised as well.

You guys made out well with so many away games on TV.

Most of ours are home games.

ASN's not a network, it's a syndication package to Sinclair-owned TV stations (with buy options for other broadcasters, I think). If you have a Sinclair-owned OTA station in your region, you should be fine.

You are right with respect to conference games. Was actually thinking about going to Charlotte but this may factor in - i.e. maybe a trip to a game that is not televised. Anyway, this is what was missing last year for basketball. This is a very good package for the conference this year!

We do have a Thursday home game now at 5:30 p.m.? The ODU promotion band wagon will need to get it together for that one...

Apparently a lot of people are getting it in HD in C-USA. If you're having a problem with it you could contact your nearest Sinclair station to see if they could broadcast it in a better quality.

Video quality is just part of it.

Commentators calling us the 'Owls' for half a game is just as bad.

However, bad TV better than no TV

Thursday, February 19 Southern Miss at Old Dominion 5:30 p.m.

What's up with this game and time? Could it be any more inconvenient? 3:30 mountain time! 4:30 central time! Whos' interests are being served?

I wonder if it happens to be the beginning of a few matchups that night or one of the teams, requested that for whatever reason.

The live audience for a regular television show gets into the studio for free. We the live audience for a televised sports show are expected to arrive at whatever time is convenient for the folks at home plus we are expected to pay for the privilege. Oh well!

Supply and demand and capitalism can be a pain sometime. Though how many of watching at home are going to have time at 530 with the usual late afternoon things like coming home from work, prepping/eating dinner, etc.

Just goes to show you will never make everyone happy all the time.

The 8:00 sucks for me. I have a young daughter who simply can't make it until 10:00 when the 8:00 games would be ending.

No biggy. More money for ODU to be part of the contract. More exposure. Some people lose out (8:00 game is my loss, 5:30 game is someone elses loss), some people win.

Let's move on.

We could always complain about the free chicken fingers from 5 years ago? Any takers?

I'm with you on the 8PM. I work in Norfolk and live in Newport News, so I have to hang around 3 hours to wait. 7PM gave us time to go to dinner and leisurely make our way to the Ted and we still got home at a decent hour. But, I guess I will suck it up and deal with it.

I live/work in NN so I would much prefer the 8:00. This game is during an already shortened week (President's Day) so unless things are completely dead around here or both teams are good enough that I feel compelled to take vacation time, I'll be watching from home where I can get to by 5:30.

I can beat all of you guys. I live/work 6 hours away from Norfolk, so I had to get a hotel for two weeks at the Beach so I could make the USM and LT games. Wanting to get the heck out of snow & cold for a couple of weeks had nothing to do with it. It was strictly a basketball decision! (Not.)

They arbitrarily ended that promotion early the next day after the Towson game claiming they served too many free meals so I had to use flex points.
