FAU at Marshall, Oct. 25
So, will we put a fight or be another stepping stone on Marshall's road to 13-0?
There is optimism in the FAU ranks that we can lock Cato down for a while, at least. FAU defense hopes to contain Cato as it is not likely to totally stop him.

Containing Cato will just allow Johnson to rumble for 10+ yards at a time.
(this isn't smack talk, it's just what we've witnessed every game)

Exactly...You can't stop everything...Cato has thrown to 14 different receivers this year...And with our stable of running backs... I'm sorry, I just don't see it...Not in Huntington (See MTSU 2013 vs. 2014)...I know you guys played us extremely tough last year, but that was at your house...As many have said, we are a much different team at home...
Please don't take this as smack talk, but the best predictor of the future is the past...Having said that, if we take you lightly, you have the talent to kick us in the nuts and punch us in the mouth...

I have to agree with ThunderGround. We just have a lot of weapons, and Cato excels at taking what the defense gives. But if the Herd is thinking about anything other than what to do to stop the Owls, trouble could be brewing. You all have some real talent.

FAU are 26 to 28 point underdogs (depending on a betting house). And, I think, everything being equal, it is a fair representation of where we are.

FAU defense might be able to contain Cato but we are terrible against the run in any case.

I hope for a good, injury-free game.
The one last year took a couple years off my life.

We havent been very good on the road this year and agiainst a very good Marshall team I'm expecting a loss. With the huge swell of emotion from last game I think the players will not be mentally prepared. I sincerly hope I am wrong, but thats how I see it.

I don't know how you guys handle weather either. My ex wife is a native Floridian from Delray Beach and went to FAU for a bit...but when she moved up to WV from south FL in the summer, she about froze...lol
Temp could be in the low to mid 50's...How do you think the players will handle that?

There is optimism in the FAU ranks that we can lock Cato down for a while, at least. FAU defense hopes to contain Cato as it is not likely to totally stop him.
I think Marshall has to many weapons for FAU to stop. We have 4 WRs that can out run any corner or safety in CUSA in Jean Louis, Allen, McManus and Hunt. Then there is Shuler, Wilkins and Foster that will go down the middle to make a catch and not be afraid to get hit.
If you decide to put a safety and corner on our outside WRs or bracket Shuler that leaves 5 in the box and Cato will check down to whoever is in the backfield if it be Johnson, Watson or Butler. All 3 capable of breaking for a big run.
If FAU has a play covering all of those then we have 2 big TEs that can catch just like a WR in Frohnapfel or Yurachek. Also Cato isn't afraid to pull it down and run with it. Cato has a 63 yard TD run this year.
Marshalls ranks:
Passing Yards: 290, 28th
Rushing Yards: 284, 10th
Points Per Game: 47.4 2nd
Points Allowed: 16.6 7th
Marshall is a true balanced offense this year with 2,031 yards passing and 1901 rushing. Last year we was a totally different team at home and away. This year not so much, we have been an equal opportunity thumper.

Obviously we need to contain the FAU QB. He gave us fits last year. Anything can happen. But we do play much better at home.

This game will not be close. 63-10 type of game. Or maybe 56. Depends on when out starters come out. FAU is not gonna be able to sustain drives or come close to stopping our offense. The Joan will be rocking for what looks to be our first good weather game of the season and a non-noon game.

Yeah, I'm glad to know that it's not a Midnight start on Sports South Great Britain...

I don't think the team that gave up 37 to UTSA's struggling offense has a prayer to even slow down Marshall in Huntington. This one will be as ugly as the ODU game.
