Yes, I am serious. It's irresponsible at best, a complete sham at worst to tell someone to take their entire retirement and go buy gold and silver bars, and throw them into a safe. I can't imagine the stress of a retiree who is expected to live on a fixed income whose entire retirement was invested in something as volatile as precious metals. Not to mention, it flies in the face of proper diversification/modern portfolio theory. Not to mention acquisition, insurance, and storage costs. Not to mention inferior tax treatment.

You have got to be kidding me. No one is being forced to do a darn thing. ITS A COMMERCIAL. AND ITS A COMMERCIAL ON AM RADIO AT THAT. I think the people of this country are civilized enough to understand what an advertisement is in the year 2014.

Now daring to point out that we are 17+ trillion in debt to help sell an investment is beyond the pail?

If you are against most advertising period then that's fine.

But obsessing over someone pointing to a REAL 17+ trillion US government debt when you want to sell something to invest in has got to be allow if we are allowing everything else under the sun we see being advertised.

Don't answer, it's rhetorical. Basically, you're either saying that you have better insight than Wall Street, the Fed, etc., or you're drinking the kool-aid.

Were in my post did I comment on the price or validity of metals?

Why do people always have to resort to these straw man arguments?
