We have 41 points per game and 500+ yards per game, however, we don't have much firepower.

If the Jaguars and their fans want to know how far their young program has come -- now that it is eligible for conference titles and bowl trips -- play the socks off 14 1/2 point favorite Mississippi State in front of that sellout crowd at Ladd-Peebles. South has more firepower than UAB and the defense is better. Its opponent, however, might be a legit contender in the SEC West.
Mississippi State 30, South Alabama 21

South Alabama Prep has played one game: 23-13 win @Kent St.

Kent State plays Ohio State Sat. USM plays @ Bama. Will the scores be comparable to earlier games?

USA is a school with certain advantages we have discussed before - one critical one being it has its own BOT. Its area industrial base is growing with state recruited new companies (I won't hold breath waiting for the state to do the same for Jeffco) and USA has its own state medical and pharmacy schools. How this will all translate on the football field over time is open to conjecture, but that is what such arguments are all about. By 2020, metro Mobile can become the state's largest metro area.

Since this thread is already derailed, Mobile is easy to recruit businesses to because of the bay. Birmingham has a couple of larger banks, horrible roads, and a backwards government.

Mobile is "easier to recruit businesses to" because the state's leadership will fly to every corner of the Earth to recruit industries for it. So far, those same leaders have not been willing to walk across a street to do the same for B'ham.

B'ham's banks have nearly all been bought up by large national or foreign banks, it is still suffering the effects of the "backward government" of the 20th century that blighted it with newsreel footage still commonly seen across America, and its infrastructure suffers from being slighted by the state legislature in providing 6 figure "seed money" needed to qualify for 7 and 8 figure matching federal grants for roads and public transportation. Even today, the I-22 project is ever so slowly being finished with its only incomplete part WHERE? - why in B'ham of course!!

I....just....ugh <shakes head and walks away>

UAB Receivers
UAB Backfield(only weak spot is our rotating QB's)
UAB TE

Now defense i don't know about but i know our offensive talent is not matched by USA.

Little known fact: Not only does the state ignore Birmingham completely, but it also actively calls potential investors to discourage them from coming to the city. I've even heard the state refuses to accept tax revenue paid by people living there.

Well as much as I'd like to see my former Jags do it, I just don't think they will. We've probably pissed MSU off so much by what we did to them that USA might not want to take the field.

RE: Check out this Charles Hollis line
I'm torn on South Alabama. My fiancé graduated from there, I went to graduate school there, and I was born and raised in Mobile. When it comes to college football allegiances, I have already alienated most of my family and friends from my hometown by not being a Roh Tider and the last thing I want to do is further separate myself by rooting against the hometown team. But then, stuff like this comes out, and my newsfeeds on social media get flooded with that stupid "South in Your Mouth" crap, and I find myself hoping that Ms St. destroys them.

Yeah, I had to go back and twist the knife a little. That it boosts his views/comments pains me, but I'll get over it.

The only thing with less activity that Hollis' twitter account is South Alabama's offensive fire power.

South Alabama ended up with around 250 or so yards overall I believe.

However, he picked UAB 45 - Alabama A&M 7.

Chuckie's prediction for the UAB-AAMU game was quite good.
