Poll:Plurality Of Americans Say Obama Makes Them MoreLikely To Vote For A Republican
Thanks, Barack!

Quote: Voters are less likely to vote for congressional Democrats because they are disappointed with how President Obama is handling his job, according to a new poll released Monday by McClatchy.

By a 42-32 percent margin, voters say that because of the president, they’re more likely to vote for a Republican candidate this fall. And, for the first time, Republicans are winning the generic ballot measure, with voters more likely to say they’d vote for a GOP candidate by a 43-38 percent margin.

The troubling signs for Democrats are due in no small part to the president’s dwindling approval rating. Just four in 10 say they approve of how Obama is handling his job, tying for the lowest level in three years.

Only a third of voters say they like the president’s approach on foreign policy — the lowest marks of his presidency — and only 39 percent approve of his handling of the economy, despite steady stock market and jobs gains.

Independents appear to be the president’s biggest problem, favoring Republicans by a 40-26 percent margin. Some 53 percent of those not affiliated to a party disapprove of the president’s job performance, while 58 percent say his handling of the economy is subpar and some 64 percent express concern over his foreign policy.

The libs I know are in absolute denial. But if the GOP takes the Senate then our country will simply be ruled by executive order.

The Bush Administration was no more sane than the Obama Administration. Both of them have pushed this country to the brink of disaster for the past 14 years. I only hope that whomever is elected in 2016 can get a grip on how to run a country.

Bush went way out of His way to work with Democrats. Pretty much gave Them a blank check. When the plans the Dems made didn't pan out the Dems blamed Bush for the deficits the giveaway programs cost on top of the War expenses. Obama on the other hand hated Republicans and conservatives and fights Them tooth and nail on everything. No way in Hell He works with Republicans on anything. All about politics before Anything with Obama. And His Cronies too.

It's always a big cycle. People are almost always disgusted by the ones in power. It happened during the Clinton years when Republicans started to control the Congress, shifted back to Dems in Bush years, now shifting to Reps again in Obama... Nothing ever changes, it's all the same.

There's no if about it, the Republicans will take the Senate this fall. Current RCP map has 52-48 majority for the GOP.

I think it'll just make for 2 more lame duck years with nothing getting done so the GOP can use that against Hillary in 2016.

The wars and the prescription drug plan are directly on Bush.

They share TARP and all the bailouts.

Obamacare is on the democrats.

Doubtful. The GOP hasn't demonstrated they have any grasp on the one area that they should be roundly defeating their opponents in: economy/jobs. And all the DNC will do is intimate via the media that Republicans will 'put blacks back on the plantation, women back in the kitchen and gays to the sword' and all those disaffected groups will run back up under the Democratic tent.

I don't know, I'd say the dems are doing a pretty good job of disaffecting a significant portion of their base on their own right now, how that will translate at the national level remains to be seen but state and local races haven't turned out that great for them thus far...

That's about the way I see it. And republicans don't seem to want to do anything about it.
