RE: Parrish tweets re Keelon Lawson
GP is awesome.

Seem like the whole city go against me
Every time I'm in the street I hear

"YAWK! YAWK! YAWK! YAWK!"

"Man down, where you from, n***a?"
"F*** who you know, where you from, my n***a?"
"Where your grandma stay, huh, my n***a?"
"This m.A.A.d city I run, my n***a"

Brace yourself, I'll take you on a trip down memory lane
This is not a rap on how I'm slinging crack or move cocaine
This is cul-de-sac and plenty Cognac and major pain
Not the drill sergeant, but the stress that weighing on your brain
It was Me, L Boogs and Yan Yan, YG, Lucky ride down Rosecrans

The knowledge bestowed by Gary Parrish is unequaled. All Tiger fans should be grateful to Gary Parrish and become Gary Parrish 's willing disciple.

He is a demigod, at the least.

What can I say? Some or us were born worthy, while others have to work at it. Maybe there is an inner circle that Gary Parrish supplies with the newest nuggets, nttawwt.

He does seem to have a following here.

What business? The Memphis scene or College BB in general?

In terms of college basketball I'd say both.

I'm thinking you must not be counting these three tweets of Parrish as examples of his information about Memphis BB, as these details about Coach Lawson's hire have been discussed here and verified on Roar many times for weeks on end--almost ever since the Lawson situation became public.

So what I'm wondering is, where does GP release the information that is not already known....? In his radio programs? I don't listen first hand to those.

Even if he doesn't have the newest info on the Memphis scene, I'm not saying this doesn't make him a viable media person. I'm just asking, where is the best place to hear or read his information on the Memphis scene? Am I missing something by not listening to his radio programs?

Parrish >>>>> Roar many times over, and that's coming from someone who's never had a dog in the Pro/Anti-Roar argument. He's more "in the know" about Memphis basketball specifically than anyone outside of the program, and it's not close.

Since you're not a subscriber; what would you base that statement on?

Like GP or not but I would bet that 99.9% of his Tiger sources is straight from Pastner. If Gary says something will happen with Tiger basketball you can take it to the bank on its reliability. Just saying[/u]

I don't like or dislike GP, but I'm betting you would lose that bet. CA folks who wait for CJP to tell them straight out what's going on wouldn't have a story. Take that Lawson story, I'm pretty sure GP didn't get the Lawson's-gonna-walk-if-he's-not-hired story from CJP.

No he didn't get that story from CJP maybe for him? GP knows what's going on before Jason Smith or anyone at the CA. My point is if GP says something to the fact that Lawson will be hired you can bet he has talked to Pastner about it.

It is an apples to oranges debate. I would say that Roar reports much more than GP does and reports it quicker. If you're asking who has the info first; then it is a little tougher to determine because both sides sit on info. GP is also much more speculative than Roar is.

Roar focuses 95% of their content on the Tigers. GP focuses a greater proportion of his content on the Tigers than on other program; but it is still a fraction of his content as a national writer.

As a Roar subscriber I would say without question that Roar breaks a lot more stories than GP does.
