Hey, leave the Cajun alone. Someone pissed in his Corn Flakes a decade ago and he's been Ragin' ever since.
Hey now, don't group all of us together with him.
Don't worry. We have met too many class Cajun fans to make a mistake like that. All fanbases have their share of goofballs, but y'all have a whopper in that one.
I really don't think UL fans give a darn what a USA fan thinks. I sure don't. You clock tower is nice. There is no quad that I can see. Some buildings do look good but many still look like they were built in the 60's by some Soviet contractors doing a little freelance work. We had building like that but are now finally tearing them down and fixing up others. USA should do the same. That soccer and track field would be the perfect spot for a new on campus stadium. You can take offense by that and call me names but I really don't care. I call things as I see them. If that upsets you then that is your problem. BTW I've always said Mobile is a nice city. There's no reason USA couldn't become a bigger football program.
Well, the Jaguars took UL@L behind the woodshed when their illustrious football team came to town something like 30-8.

Ouch!
While I enjoyed the Jags beatdown of the Cajuns, they still have a special place in my heart. My maternal roots are from Donaldsonville which may explain why I turned to the swamp for protein in my student days.
You can take the boy out of the swamp but you can't take the swamp out of the boy.

The first football game without our starting QB. It was a good win for USA. Hold on to that one.

It's a minstrel playing a flute. There isn't much story behind it other than it being donated by the daughter of John Laidlaw, for whom the building is named. He gave a $1 million endowment towards the performing arts center when it was being built, and his daughter that donated the statue is also a donor.

Yea I can see if a person donates a cool million for a building, you can put whatever you want in front of it. I was just curious if there was a story behind it. Those pictures look like a very nice campus. Are those apartments part of the university or privately owned? We have places like that adjacent to campus and I think the new dorms are similar but it's gate so I have't been through them.

The apartments at The Grove, The Edge, and Campus Quarters are privately-owned but only available to USA students. The Grove is on USA campus but I think The Edge and Campus Quarters own their own property. The new dorms being built I campus have replaced/are replacing older dorms.

Having been to every campus in the conference except the two newbies I can tell you there isn't anything special about the SoBama campus. WKU is probably the nicest in my opinion.

Are you basing that on the sports facilities or the campus in general? I've been to Troy. You guys have an awesome football stadium and good baseball field. I wasn't very impressed with the rest of the campus. I've never ventured to WKU. What did you like about it?
I've been to ULM. Small campus and some of the buildings were really nice looking. The football stadium is dreadful. Before the ULM fans get into an uproar, Cajun Field was nothing to write home about. With the upgrades I'm hoping it will be in the near future.

Although I do like the athletic facilities at WKU I was basing it on the campus itself. There's just something about the layout of that campus along with all he hills that makes it stand out to me. Troy's campus is improving with a lot of construction, but only a few things stand out to me. I like the old style universities. ULM was clean and kind of a neat to me as well. Nothing wrong with UL in my opinion, I just prefer WKU a little more. I really disliked the FIU and FAU campuses. My favorite of all the ones I've visited is Duke. That place is amazing.
As far as facilities go WKU is again nice, football stadium is a little Amal. Troy is nice, but the endzone facility is needed for many reasons. If we could have UL's atmosphere, inside and outside the stadium, at Troy if would be AMAZING!!! ULM has a grove, not sure if that's what it's called, that is neat for tailgating. We tailgated behind it a few times near a canal or some body of water. The stadium there is a different story.

Is USA's cafeteria still still going to be in the student center, or is it moving? I remember eating lunch there during Ronnie Arrow's basketball camps during his first time at USA.

The new cafeteria is over by the Grove and dorms.

Gosh, whatever will I do now knowing you are ignoring my opinion. Oh wait you responded to it, so you aren't ignoring my opinion at all. I feel better now.
Your Mellow Mushroom is very nice. See I said something about SoBama. Your gravel parking lot, for donors, at the baseball stadium is not very nice. You can park on gravel at Troy for free if you can find any on campus.

Smack talk from someone that plays their home games off campus at Ladd? You didn't think that post out before clicking reply did you?
It's ok Troy has a 30,000 seat stadium and averaged 3000 more per game in attendance than SoBama.
All that while Mobile has a population of 194,000 and Troy has a population of 18,000. SoBama has 15,000 students on the main campus while Troy is at 7500 on the main campus.
Oooohhh the truth and those numbers certainly must sting a little this morning.
