Just saying.

A sampling of Obama's greatest bows.

No bowing, but metaphorically Obama applied a full nelson.

he will hand the pope a free condom, compliments of the National Program for Making Sex Safe for Kindergarteners, give him a fist bump, and then read words from the TOTUS while wearing the pope's hat.

the vatican is a regional power, after all . . .

Is there a point in this thread that someone is supposed to understand? Or is it just Catholic bashing?

Article I, Section 9, Clause 8

Is the point of this thread to suggest that President Obama should bow to the Pope?

Quote:Foreign Official Gifts

Even though heads of state have traditionally exchanged gifts as expressions of goodwill, the Constitution (Article I, Section 9) prohibits anyone in the US Government from receiving a personal gift from a foreign head of state without the consent of Congress. Today, the handling of gifts from a foreign official to any Federal Government employee, including the President, is largely governed by the Foreign Gifts and Decorations Act of 1966 and further legislation passed in 1977. Congress has allowed Federal employees to retain any gift from a foreign government, as long as the total US retail value of the gifts presented at one occasion does not exceed an amount established by the General Services Administration (GSA).[1] Foreign official gifts over this “minimal value” are considered gifts to the people of the United States, which the recipient must purchase from GSA, at fair market value, in order to retain. The White House Gift Unit sees to the disposition of foreign official gifts that the President and First Lady do not retain.

Two wrongs don't make a right dummy.

If your mommy wasn't nailing the mailman, maybe daddy would have taught you that simple truth.

So, you make erroneous claims and lose the argument (or perhaps just can't comprehend basic facts) and fail to admit it or apologize for you error, so you come back with a cowardice attack on the integrity of my mother and father? And you expect someone to respect anything you post on here?

But back to the matter at hand, did you read what I posted, from St. Ronny nonetheless, and just choose to ignore it...or are you really this stupid?

I think we've uncovered the issue. You're like that poor lady in Michigan that the Koch's used to try and slam the ACA, but once again failed. All the evidence was laid out in front of her that she won't pay more, but she still says:
Quote:According to The Detroit News, Boonstra said it “can’t be true” that her new coverage is cheaper than her old.

“I personally do not believe that,” Boonstra said.

SMH indeed!

No. The point of this thread is that even if Obama did provide his usual bow to the head of a foreign state, that the MSM would never show it on TV, internet or in print. The reason is that Obama's base might be miffed that he would show polite respect for the Pope whom the far left considers the source of all inequality towards gays, women, etc.

I agree my title might have been excessively nuanced.

See above. The only Catholic bashing is what Obama and his minions have done.

Well, at least your last sentence was correct. The rest it nothing but partisan drivel.

And in case you haven't noticed, most liberals, gays, and women see the new pope as a welcome change over his predecessors.

Partisan doesn't make it wrong and in this case it is totally accurate.

And an ability to understand someone else's nuance does require an heigtened state of intelligence.

Finally, liking the new Pope better than the predecessors, is a relative statement. You might better posit that the liberals, gays and women hate Pope Francis less than how much they hated his predecessors.

RE: I'll bet we never see pictures of Obammy bowing to the pope
Question, I'm a liberal, non-Catholic Christian and I have little love for the Catholic church. However, I like this Pope. I respect him and I'm hopeful that he represents an upcoming change in the Catholic church.

And as a liberal, I hear my liberal friends also express hope and admiration for him.

I've also heard gays say positive things about him. They don't hate him. The see hope in him for change.

Seems to me, not being in one of those demos, that you yourself are not understanding what's going on.

But you're wrong about the MSM not showing Obama's bows and about it not being on the internet or in print. What you fail to understand though is that it means jack squat. The non-Obama hating world sees these bows as nothing more than showing a modicum of respect to a head of state...and especially those in Asia where bowing is pretty much standard when greeting folks. It's only insecure folks like yourself who want to believe that this somehow lowers the standing of America. Trust me, the world is tired of us acting like a ******* cowboy who's better than everyone else.

I don't believe that it's proper etiquette for communists to bow to one another.
