But I thought everyone on this board "hated" ESPN and was happy we went with FOX sports?

The idea of FS1 & FS2 was good, but until Fox spends the money to get them on basic cable then it is basically like CSS CBSSC... irrelevant and now ESPN won't even show C-USA games on ESPN in the postseason NIT games they do have for us. USM and La tech have been on ESPN 360 (watchESPN) up until this point.
One of them is on ESPN U today and they're showing some Olympic Sport thing on ESPN 2.

Yep, no one ever does what ESPN does, or does it better.

I don't know of any conference network that is on basic cable or satellite. When I had charter 10 years ago, I don't remember any on basic then, and they are not on basic DirecTV now. .

I would consider FS1 basic cable.
If anything, some of the ESPN channels are a step up from basic cable.
ESPN Classic especially & possibly ESPNU.

strange... I don't get it on my satellite...
I guess technically CSS is basic cable if you pay for comcast.

I think FS1 is on most cable/satellite basic packages, including my DirecTV.

RE: Another CUSA fail
Looking on Directv's site, the very basic package for Directv does not have FS1 in it. 130 or so channels.
CBSSN also does not appear in the lower level packages for Directv.
FS1 is in a package or 2 without FS2 as well.
ESPNU, ESPN News & ESPN Classic all require somewhat of an upgraded package.
We don't have the full package, but we do have one that receives all of the channels except for ESPN Classic.
