I don't think I am the only one who knows about WBB. But I am not going to back off from pointing out when other posters are talking about stuff that isn't "true" (ECU getting ranked, UTEP getting an at-large bid, weak OOC schedules.)
I think a lot of fans on this board have been surprised at the level of "smack" coming from MT WBB fans. Well, get used to it. The Lady Raiders have earned the title as the best in C-USA and the fans are going to celebrate that status. And time and time again this season, the opinions and predictions offered by MT fans have been proven true. Maybe other fans SHOULD listen and learn a bit.
Keep running your mouth because fact is MTSU has done nothing in women's basketball in the NCAA tournament..WKU has 3 Final FOur, history or not, MTSU has 0 and will continue to have zero.......Just like the men, great regular seasons followed by postseason disappointment....I hope you took notes tonight seeing WKU Lady Toppers playing in NCAA tournament vs. Baylor holding their own....This was with our best player injured for the last 20 games and all of our best players returning plus adding Miss Basketball in state of Kentucky....We will compete with your midget of a head coach next season..
I love your stories from the 80's.
Bottom line is that since Insell took over:
MT leads the series 16-3.
MT has won 6 conference tournaments, WKU has won 2.
MT has been to 8 NCAAs, WKU has been to 2.
MT has gotten 2 at-larges, WKU has gotten none.
MT has been ranked in the Top 25 in 5 different seasons, WKU hasn't been ranked AT ALL.

WKU played in the National Championship Game in 1992. We lost to Stanford 78-62.

And THIS year WKU gives Baylor everything they want on their home court, while MTSU performs their usual flame out to measly Oregon St. How many tourney games have you won again?
BTW I don't even like women's bball. Neither do most rational sports fans. It's just a topic to discuss when the REAL sports are over. But like anything else I want WKU to win at everything they do.

Yea women's basketball is not my favorite but compared to our mens teams this season it was nice to watch a offense be an offense....WKU was really impressive last night...And as I was saying last night, MTSU usual performance tonight in NCAA tournament, no surprises there.....
Reading this board you would have thought they were UCONN or gods gift to women's basketball for CUSA...Don't worry WKU can win a tournament game this decade....

Lady Miners move on to the Sweet 16 (kinda sorta). 76-64 over St. Mary's. Play Colorado Friday night at the DHC.

Good to see. Better than the one-and-done experienced by MT and WKWho.
Any ideas on how the crowd will shape up? Hopefully y'all get a big turnout.

Don't know what the attendance was tonight, but we had 4500 for our first game last Friday. Apparently, it was the largest WNIT first crowd.

ODU was in the National Championship title game just 13 years ago. By contrast, the more successful Lady Tar Heels haven't been there in 23 years. Duke has been in the Top 25 a lot more than ODU but has yet to win a National Title.
We were in the Sweet 16 in 2008. There's nothing former about this program. We're just in rebuild mode.
Nevertheless, I hope the Lady Blue Raiders can be as successful.

Remember that a few of us have a little history with the women's game. I don't think there is any other members of CUSA that have the legacy of ODU and LA Tech.
ODU
3 National Championships*
27 NCAA Tournaments*
5 Final Fours*
2 Times National Runner up
3 Elite Eight
7 Sweet Sixteen
LA Tech
3 National Championships*
27 NCAA Tournaments*
5 Final Fours*
4 Times National Runner up
6 Elite Eight
5 Sweet Sixteen
MTSU
0 National Championships
0 National Runner up
0 Final Fours
0 Elite Eight
0 Sweet 16
Aim High * Our Pride is Showing

I'm surprised by the "Uconn of the south" numbers... you'd think they'd have at least one sweet 16 by the way shirley talks.

RE: Women's postseason
It's a bit disappointing to see women's basketball has become even more power conference heavy than the men's game. Pretty much all the final 16 teams are from the power conferences (BYU and DePaul are about the only 'exceptions' this year). I guess the big difference between the men and women right now is that early defections will hurt some of the elite teams on the men's side, leaving room for the Wichita States, Butlers and VCU's of the world to make it to an occasional Final Four. Who was the last small conference women's Final Four participant?
It's sad really that some of the top female players aren't choosing an education as much as the conference when making their college choice.
ETA - looked it up. You have to go all the way back to 2001 to find the first surprise Final Four participant in Missouri State. It used to be commonplace in the 1980's and 1990's.
