That would be foolish, I think he should have em in to stay warm for atleast 10 mins a game

He said, rest. Not sure if that means limited minutes or sat down. I am guessing limited minutes.

My understanding was limited minutes as well.

This statement is hard to believe. This isn't the NBA where you clinched your seeding and rest up for the playoffs. This is the NCAA where seeding is always in play and a difference between a 14 seed and 16 seed could be winning out of losing out or splitting out.

Any coach that rest his players waiting on the conference tourney isn't very smart. The odds of winning a game as a 16seed isn't very good and as most know it will make history when it happens. That comment is so off the wall if true as a fan it would make me say...what the f did I just hear. I believe coach Hunter is smarter than that.

I'm not criticizing Coach Hunter, clearly he knows more than me.

But, if you win out. You have a chance to get into the tourney as a 14 maybe a 13 seed. Lose out and you could be a 15 seed.

Historically, the chances of winning Round 1 as a 13 or 14 are much higher than as a 15.

We might can beat you if you are resting your players....Ark St. will more than likely beat you tonight and than WKU will beat you if you are resting players...Your 5 players have to be tired and probably should not have played so many minutes a month ago not now when we are in March...Just proves my theory your short bench will equal to a worn down team in March..

Stupid to not play to win, could go from 14th seed to 16th seed, fitting for a program with no history and or does not care....This will bite you in the ass tournament time...

Dude...we aren't dropping to a 16 seed if we lose the next two and win the conference tourney. RPIforecast puts our RPI at around 80 if we end the season at 22-9...that is if we drop the last two regular season games and win two in the conference tourney: http://www.rpiforecast.com/teams/ct/Georgia%20St..html

I would like to see a team with an 80 RPI get a 16 seed, when you still have teams from the Southern Conference, the America East, the SWAC, the MEAC, the Big South, Southland, NEC, and others in the tourney. Only teams in those conferences currently with sub 100 RPIs are Steph. F. Austin (66), and Vermont (96).

That being said, we'll see what Hunter does. I think you guys are being too literal when he says he's resting players.

What if he rests players and wins both

RE: Comments/Summaries for SBC bball games: Mon-Thur 3/3 thru 3-6
If players were injured, I would understand resting them. For instance, if Hunter is banged up, no one would worry if GSU sat him our a game. But choosing to voluntarily limit the minutes of your star players is an interesting move. I've seen this work really well for a team, and backfire really badly.

The danger is Georgia State faces two potential tourney opponents this week, and rest or not, I would be concerned about playing a weak team and giving an ASU or WKU confidence they can beat you heading into the conference tourney.

Nothing surprising about that comment. While most of the post by picture GSU fans are to stupid to realize seeding matters and most of you wasn;t even a fan the last time GSU went to the NCAA Tourney you are not use to being this close to getting a NCAA bid to understand what possibly losing your last 2 games of the season on a coaching call means.

Myself I want the team that does win the SBC and goes to the NCAA Tourney to get the best seeding possible. If that's GSU I would rather you get a 13-14 instead of a 15-16. After next week Western will have no ties to the SBC in basketball and what a SBC team (other than WKU) does post season means nothing to our program. To me I would still rather see the SBC win than get hammered. Getting the best seeding possible can help.

Like I said I think Hunter is a better coach than to sit players with still so much on the line. You have a full 7 days to rest after the WKU game. To me and I would guess most fans and coaches in college basketball it makes no sense. I still think this quote was taken way out of context and will be very surprised if the players don't play close to their minutes over the last 2 games.

You haven't learned yet how this works?

CRH says he will rest players
GSU falls behind by 12
Ref makes horrible call.
CRH calls timeout.
Looks at RJ and Harrow on bench and says "end them"
