So where's the line drawn, MB? You can harrass & poke fun of Blazer fans on our own message board, but laughing at a guy, who hated on UAB & Gene Bartow for years busted at a naughty massage parlor is beneath you? You want to defend the right for someone to reference a decade-old rape case that hurt the life of a female student and our university, but how dare someone poke fun of Sam Farlow's situation... seriously?

I'm pretty sure that his wife, kids, employer, and the people who go to church with him know that too... and that they still reacted to seeing his name and face in such an article. Since he has given the old time Blazer faithful abundant reason to dislike him, a little schadenfreude is inevitable.
Maybe they'll run his picture again when they report on the convictions.
If the media wants to plaster his name all over the news if he's convicted, fine.
I just assumed that in this country, you are innocent until proven guilty.
And even if he is guilty, who cares? Paying for a blowjob is a victimless crime. That said, I couldn't care less about this guy or his case.
that is without a doubt the most ignorant thing you have ever said on this board. are you saying slavery is a victimless crime? are you saying being held against you will and being forced to have sex twenty or fifty times a day against you will is a victimless crime?
If this case involves individuals being forced into prostitution, that is a resounding "no".
I can assure you that the vast majority of the "employees" in those "Asian spas" did not choose their fate. We just choose to ignore their fate and hey they are not "americans" so who gives a ****

We should feed the inmates at Jefferson County jail Legion Field hotdogs; covered in that famous sludge.

You ignore those fools. You don't make them celebrities by constantly complaining about him and creating threads about him.
He's harmless, but you guys consider him our #1 enemy. When did he bump Paul Bryant...
Sam was the #1 UAB hater on Bham sports talk radio for a few years... many years ago. I don't think any rational person on this board would name Farlow as enemy #1 today... even Blazerman. It sounds like you are getting hung up on the #1 part and putting a spin on it so you can argue the merits of having a laugh at Sam's choice of stress relief.
I'd still like to know why you feel so passionate about defending this guy?
On a similar note, Paul Finebaum didn't want to discuss Farlow on air today and even went as far as saying Sam was a friend of his.

When asked, I'm sure Finebaum said he loved him long time.

I'm sorry if I offend anyone's....
sense of justice and fair play, but seeing Sam Farlow arrested with his pants down in a shabby, run down house of prostitution really brighten my day. And I don't feel the least bit guilty because of it. Sam was fairly well known semi- celebrity when for some reason he became absolutely obsessed with trying to bring down Gene Bartow and the UAB program he had built from scratch. Sam not only continually called local talk shows spewing his venom and lies, the News published some of his vitriolic letters as well. This went went on for years. Maybe he did just go in for directions and his belt broke at exactly the wrong time. I don't care if he is convicted or not. To see this b****** publicly humiliated after what he tried so hard to do to Gene and UAB warms my heart and I don't give a rip about what that says about me.

+1
I don't think there is anybody here that didn't want Sam Farlow to get a big ole karma filled $hit sandwich.

If God classifies feeling good that someone like Sam Farlow got his just due as a major sin, then most of us big sinners don't stand a chance anyway.
I agree that Sam was never UAB's number one enemy, not even close, but he tried his best to be a major pain in our backsides for a long time.
If you don't take some pleasure when a person who harassed you for years gets his turn to be publicly humiliated, you're probably not being honest with yourself.

I'm not a Christian, and it's been a really long time since I've been inside a church, but I think that is one of the pretty big tenants of Christianity. I dunno, may be wrong. Anyway, I'd hope that the UAB community would be a little better than this, but I guess in our race to be as much like Tuscaloosa as possible we'll always strive to be the bigger ass hole. Reminds me of the folks who think Roger Shuler are getting screwed with his pants on with respects to his constitutional rights but don't really care because he's an idiot, which may be true, but doesn't mean that he or this guy (who I've never heard of before) aren't human beings with families.

The part of thinking about his family should be filled by Farlow.
Some of us feel the Shuler situation is a little different.

Oh, so your not familiar with Sam Farlow - well that totally explains why you don't understand why we feel as we do. Lucky you. And if Sam were as concerned about his family as you seem to be, he would have never put them in their current situation.

A question to ponder - would it be better for his family for him to get caught or not get caught?
