Dear H20ville Rocket,
I was only referring to what would have happened at the Eastern game. You are right about it following him, but again I was only talking about the Eastern game. Had he not been involved, there would most likely have been no reference to the DUI.

Well since you are 50/50 in your presentation of facts.
1) Lost the game -True
2) Drummond with the DUI - True
3) Fifty Toledo fans present - False - (you might want to add a digit to that)
4) Lousy drive home - False - (Great weather and drive home, stopping in Milan to eat).

Outside of the outcome of the game. A well spent afternoon. On a footnote... We've learned to live with it, and I'm sure our b-ball program is grateful for the fan support they get. (Home & Away).
Good luck to Eastern the rest of the way until early March.

Ah, so when you said "all of this" you meant "some of this". Got it.

If Drummond had been a football player rather than a basketball player, we probably would not even be having this discussion at all. Think about it for a minute or two 03-wink

Dear Ken Barna,

I can't believe you [in all your EMU fanaticism] just attendance smacked us. What has my world come to? We may have had 50 there but then your overall attendance for the game must have been near 175 - 200. And I agree with my fellow Rocket...the drive to your campus seems as short as the one to BG but obviously more pleasant than driving down there. The game itself was really the only thing that was bad for us. I've always found that if I'm going to get my azz kicked, I prefer to do it where nobody else will see it so I think your Convocation Center was the perfect place for that to happen to us. 04-cheers

If you don't think that the Western student section would not have chanted the same thing you are living in a dream world.
When people, (Drummond) in this case do something that everyone is aware of, you as the offender are going to bring it upon oneself to suffer the slings and arrows of the opposition. In my opinion, sure his dad would stand up for him, but he should have also been aware of the circumstances and the opposing fans reactions.
This could have been all avoided had Toledo done the right thing, and done something more than a one game suspension.

WMU doesnt have a student section. Its a bunch of old farts like you.

Quit deflecting. You're response is no better than the Toledo coach and their admin.

Wow, I started this thread to help build up some excitement for the game, hoping the Rocket faithful would come north for the game, but I didn't expect it would turn into a 'border war'.

How many days until the rematch in Toledo? 03-idea

Which border? The one between Kalamazoo and Ypsilanti? 03-wink

Dear gobaseline,
You add nothing to the discussion except hot air. Typical of obnoxious Western better than you attitude. If you have no student section at Western, then you better stop complaining about it on the Western Stampede. Better yet, find out what is happening in Kalamazoo.

There could be a war between WMU and EMU Sunday. 03-nutkick

If the standings continue to be as close as they are today, there are going to be a lot of intense games before this season is over....

Our student section is currently 30 silent kids and 4 that try to make some noise. We don't have any chanters. For good ol inappropriate chants, try WMU Hockey at Lawson Arena...now that's a student section to be proud of.

I am jealous of EMU's student section, but we ARE better than you. Even my iPad keeps auto-correcting EMU to WMU.

Dearest Ken,

Fact: We have as many students attending as Eastern does fans. Not many. No need for a student section.
Fact: You're deflecting again, Ken. Answer the questions and stop dodging.

This isnt a Western, Eastern, MAC thing.

This is adults condoning borish behavior to justify sporting allegience.

Petty at best.

Dear Western Folks,
You are not better than us. Do you have a list of appropriate behavior in the lobby of your arena? Sounds like you do. I don't condone boorish behavior as you suggested, and I have been to your stadium where the student behavior would fit your descriptions of the behavior you described, so all you are doing is calling the kettle black.
I guess you have forgotten that your better team in football has lost to our team three straight times. I guess people that don't know better, call that better.

Let's pump the breaks, Ken, and not start a war with WMU in a thread about EMU and Toledo.

To Whom It May Concern:

The WMU student section is way too polite. Kudos to the boorish and politically incorrect students who don't have to be civilized adults when in their school's student section.

Ken babe,
Focus like a laser beam.
It's not about either of us or WMU and EMU.

It is about the the sad mistake Drummond made, the equally sad mistake EMU's "student section" made, your sad willingness to accept it and the even worse, the UT Coach and Administrations refusal to help this kid out because it gets in the way of their season.

Get it?

Equally sad mistake that the student section made? They all got DUI's and blew .167's? You're reaching so hard.
