Well, the US is not a different country -- it is unique, made up of many peoples from many backgrounds who speak many languages. That is exactly what makes this what it is, the commercial, the country, the lives we live.

If we speak many languages it's because we lack assimilation. Our country has a Constitution that's written in English. Our laws are written in English. Our money is printed in English. Any language other than English is, at best, considered a secondary language. All legislative and legal business is done in English. All air traffic activity is done in English.

Not speaking English can only hamper success, not promote it. But you can continue glorifying the lack of assimilation of those who refuse or just can't hack what it takes to be an American. In fact, why don't you waive the English knowledge requirement for citizenship.

Speaking many languages doesn't unite a country, it divides it. How does a leader of a country communicate with the entire population when he doesn't speak "many languages?" We are not a country made up of a bunch of smaller, individual countries. We are ONE country.

Finally, I knew a teacher in California who said the school district is paying millions for special language teachers because there are 196 different languages spoken in just her district. You might think that's a good thing, I don't.

I collect my coke rewards points from the trash. I had a soda a few weeks ago, and really wanted one (free to me) at a work lunch last week, but they were all gone.

As long as they vote democrat, the left wingers don't care if they're terrorists, killers, rapists, child molesters, foreign, etc. This is why so many lefties supports foriegners and sh*t like this thread. I'm pretty sure there's going to be an ironic outcome for these kinds of people in due time.
