RE: Official ODU Thread
Interestingly, if Denzel watts had enough totals to be counted in the official NCAA stats, he'd rank at 49th in the country at a:t ratio at 2.5 (25:10) very impressive for a freman!

RE: Official ODU Thread
too many rejected post entry passes...
I counted 3 of them by Rod and one by Rob. I like dishing inside but most of time passes were anticipated and rejected or slow and low and stolen.
otherwise, good W.

Nah. It was a pretty decent win against a talented team. ODU was just overmatched in height, depth, and experience... but those kids are quick, shoot pretty well, slash to the basket and are aggressive on defense. We looked sloppy at times, but I enjoyed the game and I'm not going to be over critical.

UAB had 19 turnovers and missed 11 out of 23 free throws. It was ugly, but UAB won so I don't really care.

RE: Official ODU Thread
We expect better than 12/23 from the FT line and 19 turnovers from a team with 5 seniors.
We're getting better but I think being a little critical of our team is not a bad thing.
I am happy anytime we win but I think this team can be better than last night.

We coasted to the win, but we could have won by 25.
We need to learn how to finish a game.

RE: Official ODU Thread
This team has "won ugly" all year. We've barely beaten bad teams and only beaten absolutely horrid d1 teams and d2 teams by 15-20, when we should be winning by 35.
We can't shoot (last night was an outlier). We turn the ball over a lot. We don't defend the 3 well. If This team had another ball handler and more shooters, we would be top 25, no doubt in my mind.
However, We do other things well that have compensated for those blemishes. We've also been helped by a WEAK schedule.
I think I've decided at this point that our team is like a pretty girl with some acne. She still looks good and is better than most girls, but you can't overlook those darn pimples. They knock her down a peg.
I think people can comment on the things were bad at, without being "over critical." Everyone knows we are bad at those certain things, so one is simply telling the truth when they address those issues.
All that being said, I like the momentum our team is gaining. Believe it or not, an ncaa bid, #1 in conference are still in play. Very unlikely to happen, but we have a lot to play for. I think realistically, this team is playing for top 4 in cusa, some cusa tourney wins, and an NIT or CBI bid. All things considered, that's a successful season.

I would be upset if we accepted a CBI/CIT bid even if that is what we get invited to.

I kind of agree with u, but taking everything into account, I think if we accomplished those things it'd be a successful season. It'd give our returning players more experience in a postseason tournament atmosphere. We'd have to accept an invite.

UAB had better not ever accept a bid to a CIT or CBI tourney. Never!!!

That CBIT championship for ECU is really helping them out this year.

Haase yanked him quick after a turnover in the 1st half in favor of Purifoy & he didn't get back in much after that though he did start the 2nd half but pulled at some point & never came back on till the last minute or so.
