Charlotte was only a founding member of CUSA that was shown the door because we didn't have football, now we have football. Please keep making stuff up because it obviously provides you some sort of solace.
It's fair you were a founding member but that doesn't mean what I said was made up, football is the money maker and app is better then UNCC and will be for some time at football. As I said SBC is better at football anyways now so I don't really care.

UNCC's basketball was awful in the Atlantic 10. In a conference where everyone besides Duquesne and Fordham go to the tournament every 4 years or so, they never went in the 8 years they played in the A-10. Saying that UNCC has a good team because they had some good years over a decade ago is kind of like thinking DePaul is good because they had some good teams when Meyer was their coach.
I've paid attention to UNCC the past two years in bball, it may not have made it but it played a lot of close games and was very good, especially compared to app, UNCC doesn't beat out app football wise in any way besides location but as we have seen over the past years location doesn't mean a lot. I hope UNCC does well but I think they will have a good number of FBS years with low attendance and poor records.

Football is a money maker only if your part of the P5. The rest of us are fighting for scraps and one of the best ways to help "even" things out from a financial & perception standpoint is in basketball in March.

1) No more than 1 money game (road)
2) 1 high G5 opponent (home and home)
3) 1 low to mid P5 opponent (home and home). Lets be honest you aren't getting Alabama to come to your place.
4) 1 low G5 opponent (home and home)
Yes, every other year you get only 5 home games. Most of our schools can work with that and can make one of the away games close to home.
But the best from my perspective is as follows
1) 1 low to mid P5 opponent (home and home)
2) 2 mid to high G5 opponents (home and home
3) 1 low to mid G5 opponent (home and home)
I see no point in scheduling two murderous payday games that you aren't going to win (ULM excepted) a FCS game that nobody will give you any props for if you win, and 1 OOC game that actually counts for much that you've got a chance to win.
Just my $0.02
I don't really understand this. P5 can play an FCS and usually bad G5 team every year, and we somehow have to live up to a higher standard? This conference's problem is winning that FCS game is not a forgone conclusion. I see nothing wrong with insisting on a 6 game home schedule, even if one is a beatable FCS. None of us has earned the reputation to have a 6 game home schedule that is 100 percent FBS year in and year out. I think that we will get there, but until then, let's all just make sure we win the FCS games we schedule.
I just think that running up the score in OOC FBS instead of OOC FCS is the way to climb the perception ladder.
You and I agree, I just think you have the cart before the horse. Look at last season's SBC results... far too many FCS losses and games that were too close for comfort. My position is: let's win those games FIRST and in convincing fashion, let's schedule a peer game instead of 2 money games per year, and THEN we can work on that 100 percent FBS slate. The first step to perception is for folks to see a real separation between SBC and decent FCS schools, and to continue to post a winning record versus our G5 peers. Do that, and knock off some P5's along the way and you have got yourself a reputation.
We are actually really, really close. We just need to stick together and get on the same page re: scheduling rationale.
Have to agree. The most important thing is winning our OOC games against whomever they're against. If anything I'd worry more about making our schedule too tough than too easy. If we get to the point the media is complaining about our conference's inflated OOC records then that's a good "problem" to address at that point in time.
IMO, the perfect schedule is 1 FCS home only, 2 FBS home and home, and 1 money game (preferrably against a more winnable opponent).

I think that is what the Hwy 49er fan was referring to about making stuff up. The App guy needs to stop making up stuff about UNCC having a good basketball team.
Then again, for us App fans, compared to our team, every basketball team is a good team.

1. 1 FCS at home
2. 2 money games
3. A home-home with another G5 team
So every other year we will have 6 home games. Hopefully the year we have 5 we play at Ga. State so that could be a "semi home game."
I wish we would cut the money games to 1 per year but apparently we are going with 2 starting in 2015 at least for a few years.
We have 3 next year...
700,000 NC State
700,000 GT
500,000 Navy
Those numbers may not be final though.
